Well George, what can I say? "Wait 'till next year!" Is what we do up here in the Chi!

Just busting you all's chops. I'm a White Sox fan and at least you guys made the playoffs unlike my team. The Cubs look to be built to be good for a few barring injury.

It's all good. The Sox hit a speed bump this year - but I believe that we will see an "El" World Series before long. You can mark that down too, if you like.

I enjoy the this board and guys like you, George! Go Bobcats!

History might repeat itself like this, but I would hope for a different result than back in 1906 when the "hitless wonders" beat the mighty, heavily favored Cubs in six.

I am extremely late to this party (I rarely check this board), but as many of you know I'm a ridiculously extensive Cubs fan. My most enjoyable moments of the thread was the bitter Pirates fan who claimed to have dominated the Cubs during the year and been dead wrong, and OCF saying the Cubs haven't won since 1907 when in fact it is 1908. Any halfway legitimate Cubs fan would never ever get that 1908 number out of their head.

I posted a lot of some great comedic gold posts to DCF's facebook during the NLCS when his Mets dominated the Cubs, but he just kept deleting them, I was very disappointed.

Can't wait for the season, though it comes with a lot more nervousness when you're considered the favorite. Last season was an absolute blast (think Bobcat basketball 11-12 season versus 12-13 season).

Thanks, Andrew for calling me illegitimate. ;-) Sometimes my fingers don't type what my mind knows. Also, for the record the Cubs won in both '07 and '08, and the vast Yankee conspiracy to "break up the Cubs" was very successful for over a century.

The Cubs will be Super Keen in 2016!

With apologies to my childhood idol, the late Ernie Banks, who could have come up with a much better slogan than that one.

Edit: I had type 2106 instead of 2016, so I had to edit it, or Andrew would be casting even more aspersions. ;-)

Hmmm... I think comedic gold is being a little generous. they were more angry and bordering on inappropriate.

Come on Jason, I know you're not the type to think bringing up political beliefs of your favorite players that contradict with your beliefs is inappropriate. Perhaps I was mistaken, we need to set some boundaries because if all goes well we will be having these battles frequently in the near future. Between loving baseball as your #1 and hating the Buckeyes, I am pretty sure we are literally two of a kind in Columbus.

Yeah, a little inappropriate considering we don't know each other that well and your attempt at ribbing me seems to be based on some incorrect assumptions.

As for baseball, Thankfully the season is almost here! I would love a rematch in the NLCS. I swear I would get rid of satellite if it didn't mean being without MLB Network and televised Mets games. I think maybe I should just try an MLB.tv subscription and just have games wherever I go. Just hoping it's a glorious 30-year anniversary of the last World Championship.
