And did not get run-ruled by #12 Arkansas.

I noticed that Miami received votes in the first poll.

Ended up not so great in Boca Raton. Run ruled by Penn St & FAU, then eliminated by PSU.

But then Bobcats go 5-0 in Greensboro to win the Spiro Classic hosted by UNC-Greensboro. On the season the Bobcats 3-4-5 hitters have totaled 9 homers, no one else on the team has hit 1. They've scored 21 runs and driven in 22 of the team's total of 39 runs on the year.

Another 5 game event next week in Chatanooga.

Can't say I follow college softball too closely, even OUr team in Athens.

However, I couldn't help but notice some impressive recruiting going on for the Bobcats according to a list of the best high school players in Ohio according to the USA Today 21 Ohio newspapers and websites.

Ohio coaching staff has signed Watkins Memorial catcher Jordyn Wycuff (#8) and
Breckville-Broadview Heights pitcher Anna Wise (#15). Both were named to the all-Ohio 1st team in Div. I as juniors. The Bobcats also have a commitment from junior pitcher Coral Hall (#22) of Thornville Sheridan. Hall was 1st team all Ohio in Div. II.

Of note, Michigan signed 2 of the top 3 players and Georgia Tech has signed the # 4 and #6 players. None of the 23 players listed has signed or committed to o$u.

Currently sitting in fifth place. Top six make the tournament.

Miami is so far ahead of everyone. Undefeated in the MAC. 32-6 overall. Ranked. Blasting home runs every night out.

Update: Ohio has been hot lately and has clinched a spot in the tournament with a weekend to go. The Bobcats now are tied with Western Michigan for 2nd place at 16-8. The Broncos have completed their regular season. The Bobcats host last-place Bowling Green this weekend. I guess WMU had some games canceled that were not made up. Anyway, it would seem to be that winning two of three this weekend against the Falcons would clinch the No. 2 seed for the MAC tournament. It would maintain Ohio's winning percentage, and Ohio won two of three against Western Michigan. In the unlikely scenario that the Bobcats are swept (BG is 0-19 on the road this year), they could fall to No. 4. No. 2 is ideal to get a bye and be on the opposite side of the bracket from Miami.

Ohio ended up playing just two against BG because of weather and won them both to get the #2 seed in the tournament, which with the format, is pretty big. A team who loses in the first round has to win six in a row, so that scenario is not in play. The tournament just started, but Ohio will not play until until 2:30 tomorrow against the winner between #3 Western Michigan and #6 Ball State. All games are on ESPN Plus. If the weather cooperates throughout, the championship is 1 p.m. Saturday.
