A look at the 2022 bracket shows that it is very much regional process for opening round games and the game at campus sites, no pods. The most traveled teams were lower team in conferences lower than the MAC and west cost teams who basicly went from Oregan and Washington to play first round games in Arizonia or Texas.

2022 - UB went to Pitt
2021 - BGSU went to Michigan

Based on some early projections based on ranked teams could be at Pitt, OSU or WVU, to stay regional.
