The "fear" of covid??

Williamson County, a suburban area north of Austin Texas, reported that their new case rates and hospitalization rates have doubled in the past week.

After declining for weeks, seven-day national average daily Covid deaths have increased by 26% ... new cases increased by roughly 70% since last week, while hospitalizations increased 36%.

And a special shout out to my home state of Tennessee... As of Tuesday, July 13, 2021, Tennessee is number one in the U.S. for largest increase of new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks per 100,000 people. Tipton County is the number one county in the entire nation for new cases. In the last 14 days, Tennessee has seen a 400 percent jump in new COVID-19 cases, making it the top spot for coronavirus spread in the country right now.

But vaccines!

I give it a month before half the states are in total lockdown...again. Sadly Daddy DeWhine will be one of them. Expect more announcements like this in the future for every variant that inevitably pops up.

People have to be willing to get them. Vaccines are an obvious, available solution to this problem.

If lockdowns occur again, it'll be obvious who is to blame.

In case anybody doesn't understand how that works...

Over the past week, states that have fully vaccinated more than half of their residents have reported an average Covid-19 case rate that is about a third of that in states which have fully vaccinated less than half of their residents according to data from Johns Hopkins University and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Alabama, Mississippi and Arkansas are the only states to have fully vaccinated fewer than 35% of their residents. Average daily case rates in each state were among the 10 worst in the country last week.

Hope that was easy to understand.

Funny that BOTH my Tennessee friends went on and on about how COVID was a made up thing. They regularly volunteer summers with camps but when told all the personnel would need to be immunized to be around the kids they vocally abused the organizers and informed them "after all these years we won't ever be back" Organizers shrugged their shoulders as the parents expect a place to send their kids without risk. I am sad that Ohio University is taking this approach as that is way too far the other way. It will affect recruiting whether folk in the town and University want to admit it or not. Coaches are out and seeing kids in the gym but those campuses where they get kids in dorms and on the floor are at an advantage. Ever wonder why Akron keeps hosting King James events even after his old Coach Dambrot is gone? LBJ still takes great pride in his hometown.

That's for sure. The spineless Governors and power hungry state health directors.

Cases don't matter a lick - only deaths. We don't lockdown for flu season (yet). And while cases are on a slight uptick, we're still well below previous levels and deaths remain on a downward trend - approaching miniscule. There's no need for any further lockdowns of basketball camps or anything else.

If masks and vaccines work so well, all those who've got it shouldn't be afraid to stay open and keep going with basketball camps etc. anyway. You'll be fine. Right?

Not to mention all those with natural immunity from the antibodies their body produced from fighting it off already.

Of course variants can bypass both vaccines and natural antibodies. Because that's what a virus does (which we said from the beginning). There's a reason we still have the flu virus and haven't gotten rid of it through all humanity. You can't entirely. COVID will be with us forever.

So I guess if you wanted to go to root cause blame for additional lockdowns, it should fall squarely on Dr. Fauci, NIH, CDC, WHO, gain-of-function researchers, the CCP and the Wuhan Lab. (Which mysteriously had a leak around the time Trump and USA was imposing some serious economic and military problems for the CCP in addition to Hong Kong protests - all of which magically got "taken care of" due to COVID).

I'm arguing in favor of idiots getting vaccinated already, to keep people from dying, which keeps us from locking down.

Right. Again, nobody is arguing in favor of lockdowns.

It's unclear why any of those things would be the root cause of "addition lockdowns."

As you've stated, we have a vaccine and can easily get to herd immunity as a result. "Additional lockdowns" will only occur if people start dying, a lot. It's now easy not to die of Covid. So forgive me if I wouldn't be blaming Fauci for additional lockdowns, but instead will blame the myriad idiots who refuse to get vaccinated because of some stupid thing they read on Facebook.

We have a solution. The only thing that would lead to additional lockdowns is a huge chunk of Americans being stupid.

Which is why we're probably going to lockdown. Because man are we a stupid, stupid country these days.

Actually hospitalizations matter - bankrupt many that are admitted. Last count 98%+ of those hospitalized or dying are not vaccinated. Score the bucket and one to get vaccinated.

If masks and vaccines work so well, all those who've got it shouldn't be afraid to stay open and keep going with basketball camps etc. anyway. You'll be fine. Right?
Yup - show your vaccine passport and you can attend - solved. Yes - you have a right not to get vaccinated, and a business has a right not to allow you to partake. Personal responsibility - a cornerstone of conservatism.

Not to mention all those with natural immunity from the antibodies their body produced from fighting it off already.

Of course variants can bypass both vaccines and natural antibodies.
Did anyone mention 98%+ of those hospitalized or dying are not vaccinated.
