This is the last home game of the season that works with my schedule, and that's even after I take off work to make the drive from Cincinnati. I plan to be there, but not making any ticket or hotel arrangements until Friday, just in case....

One thing I noticed is that a whole lot more sections in the lower bowl are available for single game purchase. I made the observation before the season started that some of the sections were open for single game purchase, but even more are open now. I've been vocal about this happening for years and I'm happy to see it happen. I'd still pay $30-$45 for any openings in the sections immediately behind the benches and table, if they were available. Also looks like the O Zone sections are open to all General Admission. Have they always done that for games when students aren't in session? Might just take my son to the old front and center perch.

I didn't realize the semester doesn't start until Monday, that stinks. Anyone know if we will at least have a portion of the 110 like we did for the Marshall game?

Time to head for Athens. Rare day off and a home game. Supposed to snow so I will leave early and plan on staying over....just in case. Was going to head to Tourney in Springfield MO but this will be much better

I will be there as well! Bringing along my sister who's a Kent State student... woof....

Should be a huge game. Need to defend home court and maintain an undefeated record at the Convo! Wish more students like myself could be there. I'll be loud and proud though.

I'll be there from Cincinnati with my two grandsons in tow. Bornacat, the snow will be Thursday so the roads should be decent by Friday afternoon. Also, I haven't heard anything, but it wouldn't surprise me if the Convo is stricter on mask compliance.

I'd be totally supportive of enforcement of the mask requirement. We see the signs and hear Lou give the announcements of such, but when one looks around the crowd most aren't wearing them. If the University is requiring all students to be tested upon return to campus regardless of vaccination status, then the crowd inside the Convo should be expected to obey the requirement as well. The last thing I want to see is a Bobcat game on TV with cardboard cutouts again.

Interesting. Been going to HS games here in IN over the last 5 weeks. Mask is required to enter the building. If you go to buy a ticket and do not have a mask they give you one from a box right there. \

Been sitting up and away from folks at the games I attend. At Anderson v Carmel last week I heard "Hey Doc, whatchu doin sittin way up here".... GOing to the Convo when students are not there should give more options with seating. Going to Ball is easy. Not many there anyway but with no students ....it's empty. I'm still a bit concerned about the parking and the walk through the heightened security that I have encountered the last few visits. The elevator was broke the last time I was there. Artificial joints, plates and screws all talked to me that night

Game is scheduled for CBS Sports Network. Same as last game. Anyone know if our games being on real television (not ESPN+) is a sign that we are getting more recognition? Or, are these scheduled in advance? Sorry if a dumb question.

I think its a fair question because I noticed that as well. I'm leaning more towards it being a coincidence.

CBS does a damn good job for these MAC games. ESPN should be ashamed at some of the ESPN+ productions that have aired. I can't even follow the game because I get motion sickness/dizzy from the lagging picture.

The majority of CBS MAC games involve Akron and/or Kent. One of the few exceptions is our game vs Toledo on January 21, but Kent vs Buffalo is the second half of a MAC doubleheader that night. The MAC schedule even has two or three Akron games in February listed as 21-day TV wildcard games, including their game vs Kent.

I definitely plan on being there, with the intent of spending a weekend evening in Athens for the first time in a long time. Hopefully all goes according to plan for this game and that works out. A 24-hr reprieve from real life would be pretty great right now. 😎

If any BA'ers are up for a post game or halftime adult soda, let me know.

You can have my seat - six rows up on the aisle - behind the bench. PM me and we can make arrangements. Until they start enforcing the mask mandate that they claim to have and sent in an email today, I probably won't be there.

Alan, you can sit halfway up the bowl with me and my son. We're both vaccinated, will be wearing masks, and will be keeping a social distance from other fans. SBH might join us - and I'm sure he'll leave at the 10:00 mark of the second half making things even safer.

I’ve been watching all the games here in South Florida! Always looking for y’all in the crowd. I told McBin I hope to make it for the MAC Tournament but if not the NCAA TOURNAMENT! The Akron game was wild, go Bobcats!!

I might just take you up on that. I hadn't considered that but you're right, there will be plenty of empty seats and space to spread out at tonight's game.

You can have an entire section to yourself if you don't mind sitting up high.

Nice. I got a 2-week free trial for Youtube TV to get CBS Sports so having back-to-back games there is convenient

*used to be real nice

Youtube TV exploited their legacy customers. I signed up originally when it first came out. Believe I was paying $45 a month and got everything I ever wanted out of my TV provider. They promised that they were different than all cable companies...LOL way too good to be true.

Fast forward a couple years and now I'm paying $65 and they have gotten rid of Bally Sports (formerly known as Fox Sports Ohio) which is why I made the switch from Spectrum. Now I have to stream Bally Sports to watch Tribe/Cavs games using a friends DirectTv account.

They are constantly in renewal disputes with outlets and they play hardball by threatening to remove the channel completely until they come to an agreement.
