Ohio’s own Chuck Swirsky calls games for the Bulls on 670 The Score. In addition to being a quality play by play man, he posts a victory dance on Twitter after every win. This little tribute featuring Chuck went up in honor of DeRozen’s back to back game winners this week. He’s a Chicago treasure and a GREAT Bobcat. Enjoy!

I had no idea he was an Ohio guy. When my father in law and I went to Bulls games he was the PA guy (this was BEFORE MJ) and he had a show on one of the AM stations. Followed him on the Loop. He still working? Got to be the dean of CHicago sports by now if he is. Thanks for posting. He. Is. Awesome.

Saw him in a bar in Chicago way back when and sent a note to him asking who gave him one of his last 'A's" in an OU soc class along with a beer. We had a good laugh and bring the story up every once in a while. He IS the dean of windy city broadcasting!

That's pretty awesome! I only knew Swirsky as that guy who the "Max Headroom" hacker mentioned when he hacked into WGN-TV's signal in 1987.

Yeah, I remember that, too. Back then Chuck was the sports guy on the highly popular WGN morning Bob Collins Show. His tag line was “the bottom line on sports”, as I recall. Collins nicknamed him “the Swirsk”. He and Chet Coppek (NBC channel 5 and WMAQ radio) did the early versions of Chicago sports talk radio back then and were popular targets for parody. I give him credit - he’s had a hell of a career and has outlasted pretty much all of the haters.

He was out of Chicago for a while and was the play-by-play voice of the Raptors before the Bulls job.

Can someone explain his connection to Ohio? If I ever knew, I don’t know now.

Chuck was a student in the early 1970's. As I recall he started on ACRN and worked is way up to WOUB radio by the time he graduated. He had a talk show and was pretty good even way back then.

Thanks. In that case, someone needs to edit his Wikipedia page to include his Ohio years.

He must not have written his own Wikipedia page. He is actually fairly vocal about being an OU grad. He posted a dance, decked out in on OHiO sweatshirt, on Twitter the night of the UVA win in the tournament last year. He h
Includes it on his Twitter bio: @ctsbulls…but he calls it Ohio U.

(Maybe someone from Ohio should reach out to Chuck. He’s had quite a career)
