It's obscene that Miami thinks it can charge 25% more than OSU/Ohio/UC, and then they whine and complain and spin why they're down to #133 in the USNWR rankings. If that pipeline of affluent kids from the Chicago suburbs who didn't get into the University of Illinois dries up, they could be in serious, serious trouble.

I looked at that site and found it very interesting that they go into detail and break down net cost to attend by family income. Here's what they came up with. If you're coming from a family that makes less than 75K/year, Ohio, UC and Miami simply can't come close to competing with the aid package that OSU will offer.

I am too lazy to check. Miami at one point got rid of in-state and out-of-state tuition. What they did was give in-state students a bogus scholarship for being accepted and this dropped the enrolling in-state student down to about the same tuition as in-state OSU. I couldn't believe that Fiami made such a big deal out of someone being accepted getting this honorable scholarship when every single person was getting the same rate reduction! It probably fooled a few 18 year olds and parents who were excited they got dollars off the price.

I remember that. It was a lame p.r. stunt meant to try and pretend they are a private university, and it disappeared pretty quickly.
