I did a quick measurement, using Google imagery.
From the soccer facility to the throws area is about 350 feet.
From Shafer St to the west tree line is about 370 feet.

Assuming it's roughly just a football field plus, it should fit.
Thanks, I knew it would be tight. Curious if lights are in the plans? Instrument storage?
According to the 110's website they practice from 5:30 t0 7:00 during the week.

Gonna get pretty dark in late fall without lights.

My thought on this is if you are in the band you'll be motivated to live on the west side of Athens in closer proximity to the practice field. The university is in directly promoting gentrification of the west side all the projects coming in over there. Its a good idea prime real estate close to campus. They should move the fairgrounds out of there and develop that site.
You can only move the fairgrounds over the dead bodies of all the Fair Board members. They don't want to move. End of story.

Jim ain’t wrong! It would take an imminent domain claim and would be challenged with full force.

Yes, a newer nicer fairgrounds could go out on the north side on 56 before Athens Country Club. Plenty of land. Then with desperately needed new housing where the current fairground is, maybe the west side could get a food store besides the ancient and overpriced Seaman's. A Giant Eagle would be good. Or Meijer.

I’m sure a modern Giant Eagle fits right into the corporate plans for their expansion! Hopefully it’s a modern store, full deli, hot food bar, just think how many hospital patients they could serve in the off hours of traffic.

Or keep paying $20 for a dozen eggs and a loaf of bread at Seaman's.

I do like the paper bags with the handles for free though.

Did you ever notice how the meat is always sitting there until it turns green because people don't want to pay $15 for a pound of ground beef?

Haven’t been in an Athens store since they did away with bags.

I believe that's actually a Cabela's.

First time I glanced at the title of this thread, and maybe the 2nd and 3rd times as well, I thought the conference one time known as the big 10 was announcing the addition of more teams as well as a merger with other leagues to get to 110 teams.

Glad you brought up Cabela's as their prices skyrocketed after merging with Bass Pro Shops. But this would be the hot setup...if everybody would #BoycottMenards (not many people go there anyway in Athens) since the ownership is notoriously anti-labor and anti-environment, they could vacate that building and a Costco could move in which people WOULD go to. Or an employee-owned Big Sandy Superstore. Obviously that is the east side but Menards doesn't belong here in any form or fashion.

Menards caught a bad break because of Covid and corporate. They hired guards and enforced mask mandates, their competitor did not, so they never got the contractor business.
