I saw Weezer in Columbus for free on Friday Night compliments of Gordon Gee and Ohio State University.

There were only about 15,000 people there.

At least I feel unified with one university in Ohio.

You got in for free but still may have overpaid.  A group of Weezer "fans" have offered the band $10 million to break up because they suck.  I guess now they are the quality program UPC would bring in.

That's ridiculous. The band has produced some of the most clever, intelligent music of their career lately.

Lot's of good shows at Mem Aud this fall.  Mountain Stage with Hot Tuna and local favorite Southeast Engine the Sunday before Homecoming and Mary Chapin Carpenter the Sunday of.  Six shows in October with a couple more in November.  Not a bad deal at all and quite honestly, something for everyone.

Janelle Monae was in town tonight. Maybe not known mainstream quite yet, but she is constantly mentioned by stars as one of the best current musicians out there.
