As a slightly OT aside, one of the most interesting FIOA (Freedom of Information Act) cases in Ohio was the result of the University of Toledo Foundation"s claim several years ago that as a private foundation their records were not subject to FOI requests. The Ohio Supreme Court disagreed and said that since the UT Foundation's sole reason for being was to support UT that it had to comply with FIO requests. I don't recall the details, but the UT Foundation was trying to prevent disclosure of some of their big donors who wanted to remain anonymous, or something of that general nature.
