Athens Messenger reports today that Faculty and Staff will receive a 1% raise while the President will receive a $74,000.00 increase. That is around a 15-20% increase, that is simply insulting to the hard working people at the University who make it what it is!

Was this for real? I know the President has a hard job, but is there some special reason he deserves this type of raise? Was it a particularly amazing fundraising year?
