Is Blue Eagle the only instrument store left again?

I saw something about a newer store on East State (?) that carried Fender and other big name brands but now I don't see them listed anywhere.

Do any of you guys think the Athens/Nelsonville area could support a second music store if the overhead was low enough to survive?

Blue Eagle is largely guitars, and acoustic. Love the place. My first day in Athens for student orientation was the day Elvis Presley died. I went into Blue Eagle with my dad, saw a McCartney style Hofner bass - I had to have it - he bought it for me! can't see or think about Blue Eagle w/o thinking about Elvis and Paul!

I would certainly think there would be a market for a more full service music store - including band instruments, etc., if they can get on their feet with good inventory to get established. I would believe most drive to Lancaster or Parkersburg now (or farther).

Overhead - now that is an interesting point. That's one of the reasons that about the only thing that can actually survive on Court Street is a bar unless the business owner also owns the building. As for a music store, I would say if the demand was there, we'd already have one.

I did see an old facebook page for a "Studio E" music store that was damaged by a tornado and called it quits in 2011. Maybe that was the one.
