Thanks for sharing. I can related to your story. I agree that that Pitt game was a real turning point for OHIO football. I've made the point many times that Frank isn't just building a football team for this year, or that year, but he is building a program. So, in that I agree with you also. OHIO football is on a solid foundation. I have little doubt that in the next year or two we will be rewarded with the next quantum leap forward for OHIO football. Go OHIO!

In 2005 I won an on-line auction that included 2 sideline passes to the Toledo game.

During the game my wife and I met one of Frank's relatives (an uncle I think).

He told us that Frank came to O.U. to build a program, not just win some games.

He said to wait it a few years and see what the program looks like.

Understanding "building a program" vs "building a team" is key. If anyone can not understand that, I'm not sure they can be helped.

Also agree on that PITT game being the turning point. That game was the start of me becoming hooked for life...

Good point. I will try not to post again. I just can't stand the enabling of mediocrity, the allowing for coaching which so fails to change, to react to circumstances, to fully develop the mental side of the game...the side that carries no dollar cost, so anyone can take advantage of...budget is no factor.

Consider this: I go to espn and can only see 3 of 4 Knorr years (only 02-04 but not 01). In those three years I think I see 5 losses by 24 points or more. Solich last 3 years 8, it appears. Yes, 24 points is somewhat arbitrary, but c'mon.

Understood; the immediate mission is to here try to bring a better understanding to 'the masses' who need context/truth so that there will be more than just my small, inconsequential, pipsqueak, thought greatly beloved, voice.

Monroe,

The 'MASSES' do NOT read or post on Bobcat Attack.

Further, the 'MASSES' (alums, students) are not die hard fans.

Die hard fans read and post here and unfortunately you seem to be in the very small minority who think Frank needs to be shown the door.

Coin flip at best on if you have a 'greatly beloved voice'.

Agree--but more post here than any place else I can think of.

That's the problem--that the masses are not diehard fans. I think that a MACC will help change that.

It's not Solich per se. It's the coaching. If Solich can stay and MACC, then fine. Hasn't shown any ability--see latest 3.5 years. Just want the truth appreciated: Knorr only 5 24-point or more losses in his last 3 years..Solich 8 and has had 11 years to build program. Stop deifying; see reasonable reality.

You are remarkably charitable in your assessment of my general standing here.

Since most here have dismissed the mission (or at the least the messenger), perhaps you should take your words of insight and unparalleled wisdom to the Athens Messenger:

https://athensmessenger-dot-com.bloxcms.com/site/forms/on... /

I'm sure others can point you in the right direction for the PD, ABJ, Dispatch, perhaps our favorite columnist on WVA will report your small, inconsequential, pipsqueak, thought greatly overused, voice.

To waste your wisdom on such a small, unthinking crowd as us is a waste of your sports acumen.
