I'm inspired by the Voinovich/OU thread posted by OCF to add a note I've been overlooking.
If you follow the NHL and the Stanley Cup Playoffs, in particular, you've been exposed to Michael "Doc" Emrick. Emrick holds degrees from both M&^%$ and BGSU.
In each game I've watched this post-season, it is noticeable to my "trained" ear that he goes out of his way to note that "So and So is a Miami Product" or "So and So is a graduate of Bowling Green". I have not heard him do this in a general way. In other words, he's been subtly plugging our MAC brethren and his own MAC ties by inference.
I certainly realize that the MAC does not include anyhockey programs but I am equally sure that America at large does not know that. They know us from MACtion, if at all. So, thanks Doc.
