It's with a heavy heart that we share the news that a true gentlemen and loyal Bobcat has passed. Darwin was as kind a person as you could ever meet. As a board member for the Green and White Club, he was always one of the first to volunteer for any activity - split the pot help, tailgate set up, or banquet preparation. He was the last recipient of the Jonesy Sams Award, the Green and White Club's highest honor. Please join us in prayers for his family and extend comfort to all those that he touched in his time with us here on earth.

I concur with everything that Alan said about Darwin. He was a Bobcat's Bobcat. Loyal to his core and a true gentleman of the old school. He will be sorely missed.

I am very saddened to hear this. Darwin was a very good person.

This is very sad news. Darwin was a great man. I enjoyed working with him on the G and W Club board. In recent years I often stopped in his business when I would be making a trip to Belpre and we would have such good visits. We will all miss him.

I was honored to serve as a pall bearer for him today. Darwin was a kind and caring man who was, as mentioned, a Bobcat's Bobcat. His dedication and selflessness towards his community and his alma mater was a reflection of his character. We will miss him.

He will be missed. Great Bobcat, Great Man! I stopped for his showing and was thanked by his family for wearing Green and White. They said he would of smiled.

Alan,

They had his award displayed along with a Bobcat helmet.

As I made my way through the reception line Sunday afternoon, I saw that. That was the last Jonesy Sams award that the Green and White ever gave right before the club was dissolved in 2012. I can't think of a better person to have received it.

Sorry that I could not make the funeral, but I was there in spirit. Though I did not know Darwin well (virtually all my contact with him was through the GWC Board), I came to really admire him and all my interactions with him were most positive. The few times that I did meet him "on the street" we always talked about the Bobcats and his outlook was always positive and upbeat. Jonsey Sams was once quoted as saying that he had never seen a Bobcat athlete that he didn't like. Darwin, it seems to me, had a very similar positive orientation. Very fitting award for him to receive.

Having known Jonesy Sams, Darwin would have done him proud in every way. Darwin and Herb Evans were two true Bobcats
