When I posted the election poll, I was hoping that we'd get 100's of votes with the sole purpose of seeing how Bobcatattackers aligned with national polls. Sure, I figured we'd get a few comments but nothing close to comments that mirrored the mess that we see on TV all day long everyday. I was saddened to see two threads locked but even more saddened that we couldn't have an intelligent discourse on perhaps the most important topic that we'll deal with in the next four years. So much for hoping.

Good thought, but it seems to be impossible. There is no respect for the opinion of others or acceptance of fundamental differences. It always devolves into "you either agree with me or you're stupid."

I actually didn't think that thread was so bad, and was surprised it was closed.

I suspect the anger was about comments challenging whether or not Trump's qualified to be President, and while that could be construed as "you either agree with me or you're stupid," nobody supporting Trump made an attempt to summarize the reasons for their support, or the reasons they felt he was qualified.

It's a little disingenuous to say, essentially, that we can't have these conversations because the two sides just shout past each other, and then when the subject arises, shout past each other. I would, genuinely, be curious to hear from Trump supporters -- and based on the poll it seems like there's a sizable number here -- support him.

For as long as the poll lasted, I think it aligned pretty well with national opinion. 16 (47.1%) for Clinton, 14 (41.2%) for Trump, 2 for Johnson, 2 for Stein (5.9 percent each).

I would love to see a breakdown of the demographics of this board haha.

Two that I'd bet the farm on are white and male - both in excess of 90%.

Bold prediction. Good luck finding someone to take the other side of that bet ;)

Another option is to write in Darrell Castle of the Constitution Party. He's on the ballot in a number of states, but in Ohio he was only able to get write-in status. IMHO, he's a better choice than either Pothead Johnson or Wacko Stein.
