Nah. The pundits are right. He is not trying to win the black vote. He knows that is lost. He is trying to come across as less racist to suburban women to try to soften their view of him. Unfortunately they think he is sexist as well. So giving a speech in a very white town in Michigan will have little impact.

First off,a number of Republicans and Democrats gave similar answers as to why they were skipping their conventions.Like Al Gore has something more important to do.

As I said,my gripe was that whenever a Republican said they weren't going, it was "Breaking News".When it was a Democrat,just a "scroll" at the bottom of the screen.

I never made reference to any of the conspiracy theories circulating about Mrs. Clinton's health,like her having Parkinson's Disease.

My comment to her having health "issues" referenced comments from members of the Secret Service.I would think they would be considered "credible"

She was also the one who said she had what I believe she called a "short circuit" when she was answering questions about her email scandal.

Had that been Mr.Trump,the media would have been claiming he needed a mental evaluation.
Oh,wait,they already quoted people on the other side who said he did.

There's no question Mrs.Clinton has/does have issues walking and has fallen more then once.
This may be due to the nothing more serious then the type of contact lenses she has to wear (Frenzel type I believe),but no one will address it.
Maybe if she ever has a press conference someone will ask about it.

Clinton staying silent is probably good strategy.

Two thoughts: a) we're now into September and this thread is already a multi-page thread, on its way to election day;

and b) "All the networks including, shockingly, CNN, have been talking about Mrs. Clinton's poll numbers going down rapidly. They also said her "negatives' have been going up, to where she is now tied with Mr. Trump," seems to contradict RPbobcats' argument that the "mainstream media" is pro-Clinton/anti-Trump.

One question: is Fox News not considered part of the "mainstream media"?

There's an interesting op-ed piece in The Record today by Marc Thiessen of the Washington Post.
It lays out the problems Mrs. Clinton has with "negatives".

I also don't think it helps that the State Department has reversed their decision on releasing Mrs. Clinton's schedules.
They will now release them by October,not the end of December.

According to an interview I heard this morning,Mr.Johnson has said he hasn't smoked pot in about 7 weeks and will refrain from pot until after the election.

How can you not put the word "liar" into your description of Trump? One can count on one hand the number of times he's been honest.

Most polls that I hear or read about have the race basically even.

But Trump calling the church leader in Detroit a 'nervous whiner' and his son comparing the media to Hitler ('gas chamber')--his side just can't keep from going with these headline gaffes.

Maybe he'll surprise and win. But I'm still thinking this one's long over and we're just in a natural election rhythm of tightening in the polls before the polls reflect the likely actual results during the couple of weeks before the election.

The debates could be interesting. Will Trump be able to hold his tongue?

No matter how much you dislike, hate or don't trust Clinton, if you watched that debate and think Trump is qualified and ready to be president, I think 'We got a learning disability here?!'

Yes, Trump is a magnificent, superb salesperson.

But he's really is in his own reality, denying what everyone knows is true (birther assertion ridden long and hard, supported invading Iraq). Add in getting irked and peeved (and reflecting those both in words/interruptions and facial expressions). Add in inability to get specific--well, not anywhere as much as Clinton.

It's really true that presidents can't...and presidential candidates shouldn't...say 'shoot 'em out of the water' when Irani boats near ours. A president merely says that (much more does it) and the financial markets will be severely rattled--which has major consequences.

'Will you accept if the other guy wins?' and Trump goes off on some rant about 800 refugees not being effectively deported. Clinton skewered him on his tax returns not being revealed and the two returns that are available show zero taxes paid as well as the discrimination lawsuits (that others were sued is not an effective defense). Not to mention his (his business's, I presume) filing bankruptcy six times or the silver spoon of $14 million loan from his father as a spur to his success (something most middle class don't share).

I missed a bit in the middle. Clinton didn't answer re the 33,000 deleted email (other than to say 'made a mistake'). Did Trump keep going on that issue? If so, what did Clinton say?
