Ohio drops 6%. This poses a challenge to higher education.

The bigger academic brands aren't having too much of a problem hanging in. The further the institution is down the food chain the greater the problems usually are. Akron was down to 9,725 undergraduates for fall of 2024. Wright State 7,415 main campus. Cleveland State 9,505. Toledo doing a little better at 11,454.

You’re right. In Western PA California, Edinboro and Clarion had to merge to survive. The big boys are doing just fine. They even closed a community college in Steubenville.

I have an idea. Close the Department of Education and give more authority to the states that have the worst track records on education. /s

This part NOT sarcastic:

States with the worst education levels include
Oklahoma**
West Virginia
Louisiana**
Alaska
Alabama

**Oklahoma’s state superintendent directed all public schools to teach the Bible, including the Ten Commandments, in an extraordinary move that blurs the lines between religious instruction and public education.

The superintendent, Ryan Walters, who is a Republican, described the Bible as an “indispensable historical and cultural touchstone” and said it must be taught in certain, unspecified grade levels.

The move comes a week after Louisiana became the first state to mandate that public schools display the Ten Commandments in every classroom.

If only you were making that stuff up. Why not ask those bible zealots why Trump didn’t put his hand on the Bible when he was taking his oath of office?

Same reason Linda Blair didn't want "holy water" tossed on her in that movie.
