I usually read The Post every day.

One of their weekly features is "Streetview" where they ask students a question and print their picture and their answer.

No issue with that, but it seems almost every week one of the pictures they put up is of someone in OSU garb.

So you want them to select participants based on apparel?

Just apparel with an OSU logo.
(I'd include Fiami and Turds, but I've never seen those sported on campus)

+1

Only for OSU, though. In all the world there's only one Evil Empire that has tried for years to steal our name. If you were around during the great "Ohio law suit" you'll see what I did there.

Is there something that we could do...perhaps in football in the conference in which we play...which could bring forth more pride in OHIO and make people forget about the junior institution?

I can't get over how little I see of Buckeye apparel when I come back for a game, compared to what it was like when I was on campus. I often wonder when I do see it whether they are students, or whether they are visitors or people who live in town but aren't associated with the university.

Some anecdotal information for what it's worth. I have stated on numerous threads how difficult it was getting Bobcat apparel outside of Athens before 2000. More informed minds than I have stated that our beloved alma mater didn't even have contracts with clothing stores until recently. After graduating in the late 80s, I remember getting clothing requests from fellow Bobcat alums when I came back for a game. This always made me nervous because I have difficulty picking out my own clothing, how in the world could I pick the right T shirt or sweater for some guy or girl who was trusting me.

The bottom line we are so much better off than we once were, even though it is frustrating to see people wearing apparel from the school up north. Don't even get me started about people wearing Michigan or Miami apparel.

Bobcat apparel outside of Athens.
Think of us poor souls living in N.J.

I still remember back in the 80's- early 90's calling CBS and having them fax me a catalog.

When I went Athens several years ago there was woman in CBS with arm loads of Bobcat gear.
She was telling her friend,"don't when I can get back.Have to stock up".

Thank goodness for on-line shopping.

Makes as much sense as some of the nonsensical courses offered at some colleges today.

What's wrong with Michigan apparel?

Didn't like the way we were treated in 2012 by the powers that be in Ann Arbor. They thought they were really cute with their little word play insinuating we were some little historical also ran, when in fact we had alumni dead and buried before Ohio State ever opened their doors.

Paul Finebaum of all people read some survey while he was on with Mike and Mike some time ago stating that Michigan had the most arrogant fans in the land. He thought that was saying something because Alabama is really detested among SEC fans in the south. Ask Michigan State alums and they will tell you how arrogant their fans can be. Thankfully we silenced their arrogance and sent them packing in 2012.

All of that stuff came from Brady Joke. He's gone.

Alan, Brady Hoke might be the nicest guy that passed through Ann Arbor. Listen to Paul Finebaum of the SEC and any Big Ten school's fans, especially Michigan State fans and Michigan is universally disliked.

Would you believe the only snarky private message I ever received on this board was from a Wolverine fan back in 2012? They sent me a state map and implied could we read? Think about it, you register on another board and then go insult them?

The only thing that surpassed that was when I lived in DC in the mid 1990s and the DC OU chapter would book a room in a DC bar for us to watch the occasional game that they could locate on some distant local feed. One day we all gathered and nearly got into fist to cuffs with some North Carolina fans because they wanted to watch their game in the room we booked. They couldn't understand that we wouldn't just accede to their demands since their team and conference was so superior to ours.

This doesn't go far enough.

The administration should deport students wearing Ohio State gear.

Problem solved.

Banish them to Oxford. Red is an "in" color there and they can blend right in with the snobbish crowd. The OSU-gear wearing crowd is so dumb they won't even recognize they are being punished.

I'm sorry to hear of your unpleasant experiences. Mine have been the exact opposite. My daughter's about to graduate from Michigan and I can state unequivocally that all of my experiences have been pleasant ones, and we tell everyone that will listen that we're from Cleveland and they have still been friendly. I've even worn Ohio University sweatshirts while in Ann Arbor (to my daughter's chagrin) and the only comment I ever received was from a confused coed that thought Ohio State's colors were red and gray (true story). Quite honestly I'm going to miss that campus.

My wife an I went out to dinner last Friday night.
The restaurant was nice enough to put the Miami game on the T.V. near our table.

I was wearing an O.U. shirt.

The woman at the table next to us said "I'm not a sports fan,but I grew up in Ann Arbor.I always thought Ohio wore red".

Despite seeing red,I politely explained the difference between us and them.

Simple response: "I always thought Michigan wore Green"

The state legislature basically does when it comes to funding about anything in this state anyway, why not make it a literal wall?
