Is there any place outside of Athens where one can buy an authentic, hybrid, or replica OU football and/or basketball jerseys? If yes, where - if no, why not?

If you are an adult, why would you want to wear one?

Why are you so condescending with so many of your posts?

And I quote:

"When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things, like wearing jerseys."

I don’t recall OrlandoCat saying the jersey was for him/her. Perhaps a son, daughter, niece or nephew. I believe that would be jumping to a conclusion on your part.

So you can find them online. Either through ohiobobcats.com or uptown bookstore sites.

Didn’t ask for your unwanted fashion advice. Go rain on your own parade, thanks.

He does bring up an interesting point that has been discussed a few times on here through the years. How old is too old for a man to wear a player jersey?

I didn’t ask for a players jersey. The only OU jersey I have is back when they first came out with the black jerseys. I had one custom made with my name and grad year on it.

In any event, the correct answer is anybody can wear a jersey whenever the hell they feel like it. If I ever needed/wanted fashion advice or opinions I wouldn’t come to BobcatAttack for it.

More relevant and frequent discussion: how to make OU athletics feel more big time. Maybe don’t discourage people who want to show OU pride? There are 3 different stores in the mall I used to work in that sell OSU jerseys; nobody gets ostracized for buying one, no matter their age.

Edit to add:

Since apparently we need a reason, I have a medical condition that forces me to wear devices on my stomach. A jersey is much better at concealing said devices than a t-shirt; and early September is often to warm for me to break out a hoodie. I hope this earns everybody’s approval over my jersey buying practices.

I don't begrudge those who wear them. but I did reach a certain point in my adulthood where it felt silly putting one on, and that is, literally, just one man's opinion. Otherwise, if you're buying Bobcat stuff and not yuckeye stuff, good for you. As usual, by not making official jerseys easily available, our athletics & marketing department seems to be dropping the ball.

For instance, I really wanted an Ohio baseball jersey (yes, double-mofo-standard) but hell if you can buy an actual Ohio baseball jersey. I got something like an Ohio baseball jersey, but frankly I don't like it and am less likely to wear it because of how unofficial looking it is. Let's face it, Marshmallows & Stars just isn't the same as Lucky Charms.

I frequently see grown men wearing jerseys and hats while on dates. It looks really bad and If I were the lady in question, I would not be seen with these guys. If you're attending a game- okay. If you're hanging around the house or going to the gym-okay. I personally wear no gear, not even to games. I don't look down on anyone that does, I just look better than you. Then there is the whole discussion on rooting for laundry. The example would be a guy who grew up in Cleveland and graduated from Ohio University, wearing Buckeye and Redskins gear, because he liked John Riggins and Archie Griffin.

Fixed it for ya:

It looks really bad *in your opinion*, and if I were *your lady*, she would not be seen with you. I'm sorry, but you say you don't look down on those who do, yet your posts in this thread happen to give a slightly different feel.

I have jerseys I wear. It's not my daily attire, but I wear a non-named or numbered Reds jersey to baseball games occasionally, Columbus Crew jerseys, and a lovely Clint Dempsey USA Jersey. I also have a few other numberless soccer jerseys. They're quite comfortable on hot days in the summer, and are a little more fun that a plain golf shirt. It's worth noting that my wife bought two of these for me for my birthday or Christmas.

Wear what you want, when you want, where you want, and forget about the opinions of those who tell you differently (except perhaps an employer or spouse).

Do we all agree that Rufus is too old to wear a jersey? I think he should just go shirtless. Chicks would love it.

This whole thread reminds me of the Parma Socks debate back in the sixties. No self-respecting teenager male would get caught dead wearing them.

When I was at O.U. the saying was "Parma, red necks, white socks and Blue Ribbon beer".

Mostly what I think when I see men wearing hats in restaurants and jerseys on dates is that no one ever taught them the right way. My dad was a blue collar guy, but taught me the right way to dress and be a gentlemen. Sadly, when you look around those days are gone.
