May those who died in the attacks that day and those who are still suffering and dying today never be forgotten.

Nicely said sir. It's relieving to see someone post this, and odd for me to think about the idea that there are young people either in, or on the cusp of college who never knew the world pre-9/11. Today I have been thinking, and much of feels like, combined with the instantaneous nature of the world today via media/social media, that the pre-9/11 era was just a better, more simple time. And I'm only in my early 40's.

Well said everyone, so many emotions come back while watching the replays every September 11th.

And while at a 9-11 ceremony, the NC controlled GOP Legislature calls a surprise vote to override a budget veto. Man I love when conservative patriotism is on full display.

"Patriotism", something many people seem to confuse the meaning of these days.

(I know you were intentionally being sarcastic - or at least I think you were.)

I love it when people make irrelevant political posts to high-jack a thread.

Hey, Rob, what is that one definition? (no sarcasm intended; I am merely curious)

Mike,
I think that would have to come from OU Country.

Sorta like this, OCF?

[QUOTE=OhioCatFan] As usual the California legislature has no idea what it's doing.

I'm not defining it, per se, I'm just pointing out how many like to think they're "patriots" because they drive down the road with flags on their vehicles, or based on who they voted for in certain elections over the last decade or so. It caught my eye because of the number of distasteful things I saw in comments on social media yesterday in response to certain 9/11 posts.

When did bashing California become political? I thought it was generally conceded by virtually all Ohioans that the Land of Fruits and Nuts was fair game. Kind of like OHIO alumni taking every conceivable potshot at that school in southwestern Ohio that we all wish was across the border in Indiana.

Does “the land of fruits and nuts” include the children of posters on this board?

You're asking what's political about your stance on legislation?

Yes, and I tell them that all the time. They think it's kind of funny. Some people have senses of humor, some don't.
