What’s the rumblings I’m hearing that the dept ain’t allowing for the fun of the tournament? It’s what makes that site unique in the state that the guys working it can have some fun and personalize the trip for a lot of schools.....

An event that brings 40K people to campus and the Convo in a two week period of time. 24 games in 15 days this year. Schools from Brown County to Washington County, Perry County to Lawerence County.

The high school boys district and regional tournaments are played in the Convo and basketball 30 is a term that Lou, the public address announcer, has used for years to signal to the crowd that it's time for the games to start.

This from a fan site that brings in a number of people from this quadrant of the state. It is dreadful that we (OU) are not putting out best foot forward and trying to do this on the cheap. We've even had to remind administration that they have a captive audience of potential students. Very poor administrative, petty, short-sided thinking over all.

Extremely disappointed that OU chose the 'cheap route' in terms of what to display on the scoreboard. I'm 100% with pfloyd on this, OU needs to do the correct thing and put the other information back on the scoreboards.

OU chose the "NO Route" on the scoreboard !!! LucasDavenport's game updates are worth more than running the live feed on the jumbotron ! HE has real, game information, the kids names, the schools , the napkin stats !!! OU has the opportunity to make sure that EVERY player, school, parent, fan leaves with a once in a live time memory of THEIR moment in the sun at the Convo ... AND the OU athletic committee/board is blowing it !!! ... there's STILL time to fix the OU athletic committee's blunder !!! DO IT RIGHT OU !!! let Basketball :30 at the Convo BE Basketball :30 AT THE CONVO ! - an experience like on other !!! ...

Why wouldn't OU put their best foot forward simply for recruiting purposes? Imagine a couple stud basketball players coming in with their high school teams and seeing the capabilities of the big scoreboard and the atmosphere it can provide. Could be a game changer between us and another MAC school.
