Some microbrewries across the country have begun to brew their own. Just Google "microbrew hand sanitizer." Otherwise it's available only in very small bottles in a few stores. We got some at Kroger the other day.

I think you missed the point of my post. Just another positive PR day for the University.

Ah. Hadn't seen the story.

Because she is/was the head of major giving, does that mean a $10,000 contribution should actually have cost less than a $1,000?

Interesting that the Athens News website has ads for bulk hand sanitizer on the front page and with the story.

Does anyone know if,under Ohio Law,this is a Civil or a Criminal Matter ?

I don't see anything about this in The Post.

Does anyone know if Nellis or anyone else in the Administration has issued a statement ?

Averages out to $45 for a small bottle of purell. How stupid can people be. Do they know that they can buy a jug of rubbing alcohol and some aloe vera lotion, google the correct ratio to mix and have the same thing. Hell, rubbing your hands with Listerine will work since it's 65% alcohol.

Purell is still in short supply out here.

But you can get other brands pretty much anywhere, from small bottles to gallon jugs.

This falls under the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act, which is a civil statute. The violation is classified as a "minor misdemeanor" and carries a fine of up to $5,000 per day for each violation. A court would probably count each day they sold the stuff at excessive prices in making this calculation. Each sale would be a separate violation. The court can also order refunds to customers and a class action suit is a possibility, but not likely since the AG is seeking refunds.

Here's a warning on sanitizers:

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/hand-sanitizer-brands-toxic-... /

And if you prefer your news from Faux:

https://www.foxnews.com/health/these-9-hand-sanitizers-ma...

One needs to be careful with "industrial strength" sanitizer.
