I can't believe the cost of testing is an issue. The cost of NOT testing is far greater. the cost of letting the virus into and run wild on your campus is far greater. More people will die. Testing the campus population and identifying the sick immediately will save money and lives.

Trump Administration reaffirms all tests will be free to all - is there any reason to doubt what they say?

I'm sure the feds will pay for it with the money we're getting from Mexico for the border wall.

We can't afford testing anymore. The new war on terror -- specifically 75 year old Antifa terrorists -- demands that budget. We simply won't be safe as a country if we don't put all of our resources into fighting against the 75 year old provocateurs of Antifa.

Agreed. And the way budgets are being slashed across the board testing 500 athletes every week is a back breaker

I was on campus 99-03...this thread really reminded me how much of a period of change that was for Athens. It is pretty crazy to think about what happened in that 4 year period:
---BW3 came in (I remember it being rumored forever, then taking forever, and us students riding that emotional rollercoaster).
---Damons came in (that was so deeply exciting for me...Ribs are my favorite and it was my favorite place to go growing up in the Worthington/Dublin area).
---Ruby Tuesday and a few other chains came in.
---Walmart came to town (this was a huge deal, much polarized debate).
---The Greenery shut down.
---State street widened.
---Several off campus housing complexes were constructed.
---The Lancaster bypass was started.
---Nelsonville was completely revamped, ending a long period as the pothole capital of the world.
I think I am forgetting some things...I know every period has changes but it feels like this particular period was extra heavy on the change. And this is only speaking about the town, not anything directly university related.

I was there 01-05. We got a Cici's Pizza and a Papa John's.

Our time is pretty much the same. I think that the Super 8 in Athens might have been during that time as well. Hotels started popping up. Was also when Peden started undergoing some development, I believe.

Word came out yesterday that students will be back on campus for classes starting August 24 with smaller class sizes and some online classes. The last day on campus is slated for November 20 with the last two weeks of classes and exams in December all online.

I remember I happened to be at Cici's at the same time as a TOS team. I ate more pizza than half of them. I don't know why I remember that.
