Most epidemiologists think it is hear to stay. They don't know enough, yet, to project what it will look like, but they are modelling some alternatives that largely depend on how long immunity lasts. Some models call for it to return every fall. Others have it vanish, then reappear a few years down the road, there are others, too, but none have it vanishing for good.
