Sounds like we need more retention bonuses.

That may be, but OU has been operating with a deficit for quite some time. When I was there a decade ago, I remember a report in the student paper that said that OU was operating something like $30-40 million in the red. Since they've apparently been expanding their administrative staff and giving more and more to coaching salaries to keep them (and I say that as an avid sports fan), it makes sense that this trend has only continued.

New article digs deeper into the situation. They mention that Miami isn't as healthy as they claim to be, and that there revenue has been falling steadily as they have to offer huge discounts on that ridiculously inflated tuition price.
