the kid has some quick feet for around 300 lbs and has a big chest and shoulders. I went  and seached Blake Clowes on scoutingohio.com and there is a video of him @ OU camp and some other camps doing some drills and some 1 on 1's. He looks pretty good and i read on another site that he is into power lifting and owns all the weight lifting records at Hilliard Darby. Which is the same school that produced Bobcats All Time leading receiver Taylor Price.  OU could use someone with strength and size!

With such a premium on good defensive tackles, an offer to Clowes would make sense IMO. I've seen him play a few times and he's a really strong kid that understands leverage. One of the more underrated kids at least in the Central Ohio area right now.

I have to say I'm disappointed that OU hasn't had any DL or OL commit yet and we're already a week into August. After a great season in 09' I thought we would have some early recruits with the "Big Uglies" in the trenches.
The Bobcats have offered a lot of linemen who have mutiple offers from other schools and some of these kids have had offers for months from OU. It seems these kids are either  not really interested in OU or have so many options that they can make the Bobcats wait!

After watching all his videos and reading about him. I totally agree that Blake Clowes is not only a very underrated player from the central Ohio but maybe the state. IMO. I read his high school team wasn't very good last year because a new high school  opened up in the school district and Darby lost a lot of players. Maybe that's why he hasn't got an offer yet.

Clowes is one of the strongest players in the state and he came  down to Athens for Junior Day, came down and went to OU's camp and has the Bobcats listed as a team of interest on his profile. I say we give him an offer and if he commits. Some of the other kids who have offers might feel they need to  commit before they lose the chance to play for the Bobcats!

Clearly ask and ye shall receive, as 24 hours after this post, a verbal comes in from a 6'5" 290 OL.

I went to see Hilliard Darby @ Newark play last night. I wanted to see Darby's Blake Clowes play in person.
After checking out his videos and reading good things about him in Capcitypreps preview magizine, I wanted to evaulate him for myself. I was surprised to find out that he didn't play any defense, at least he didn't last night.
Clowes started at Center and went up against a big kid 6'3" 300 @ DT.
Clowes was pretty dominate all game, especially in the second half. I counted 9 pancake blocks and there were at least 7 or 8 more times where he took his man and moved him 10-15 yards down field and totally out of the play!
Whenever Darby needed tough yards, they just run right behind Clowes and picked up first downs. It was an impressive display. He looked like "a man among boys" out there. Now I can believe all the positive things i've read about him.
Maybe we should look at him as a Center?
