Tough/hard nosed kid....had him at DE but we have 2 DE commits already......see him as a tough guard or center....a mean motor scooter.

If the strategy is to develop a strong pass rush from the DL it makes sense to load up at the position. With 3 DE's the best out of the group could make the 2 deep rotation with 2 to redshirt for development.

True.....all 3 could end up on defense....with maybe one moving to DT.

You take the best athletes you can get, and sometimes that means taking an extra person or two at a given position. There have been a couple recent classes that have been light at DE, so an extra DE or two may be a good thing. I guess we'll know where the coaches are thinking of using him when they announce the class on signing day.

Yeah...if we need him on D then so be it....I stuck him on my O Dream Team because of the video on this thread and the in person game I saw.....sure he's a D terror.....but if we  want O lineman who don't have cement overshoes and who hit the guy they're supposed to hit then he qualifies......sure it's high school but he manhandles these guys from teams that weren't that bad in his league.

If they plan to use him as a DE he can play now at about 250.

If they want him at DT or OT then he'll need to put on 20 or more pounds.

If you remember our All-MAC OT Flading came here about the same size as Brandon.

Not Doc, but, after gaining his freshman 40 I would say he first sees the field at 290. I hope this one plays offense beginning as a RS freshman center. No doubt the coaches are fighting over this kid.

A move to center reminds me of back in the day when a younger kid I went to HS with (I was his campus tour guide when he visited Ohio as the coaches knew of my relationship--we had little chance for him as his desire was to go south) came out of HS desiring to be a defensive end (was a HS O tackle too).  To his great surprise and immediate disappointment the head coach, seeing his speed and footwork and love of decking people, shifted him to center and not red shirted.  His disappointment was short lived.  He started all four years, two year All-American and a long pro career where he was shifted to guard.  Of course he could have played college DE but would most likely never reached the pinnacle had he remained on defense. (in fact he played DE in the Hula Bowl when coach Bo ran out of DE's because it was so hot, he was put in to the game and in three plays had a sack, a hurry and a batted down pass--when Billy Sims won the MVP for the game, the famous voice "Wo Nelly" said it should have been awarded to this kid who could go down field and throw blocks and make a sack when you need one.) That head coach who recruited this kid out of HS  is one of the talking heads on ESPN these days.

So an intelligent, tough, fast kid at center might not be a bad idea at all.

My favorite center, all time, from Illinois, someone for this kid to emulate. My second favorite was no bigger than Brandon out of HS and would up with a trophy named after himself. Center is where it is. Me, I would like to see our All MAC tackle moved to center for his senior year then one of these young studs with a mean streak take the job. JMHO
