DeMatha (Hyattsville, MD) High School running back Jacob Siwicki will visit Ohio this weekend. According to the Washington Post, Ohio does not have a scholarship available but that could change.

The Washington Post article reads as if we're out of schollies......would be nice to get a big RB....but we did land one RB and if we're out of schollies then we're out of schollies.

I could see him as a fullback. Keeps his legs moving, and driving forward in close quarters, and can also block and catch the ball coming out of the backfield. He definitely seeks the goal line, and has a competitive drive.

Do we even use a fullback anymore since we seem to primarily run this pistol formation?  Last one I remember was Morsillo a few years ago.  On a side note, this kid must be pretty smart based on the offers he has so far on the Rivals page.

Do they not need a fullback because they run the pistol set? Or, do run the pistol set because they don't have a fullback? When they had White and Morsillo they did run fullback sets, so I think with a good fullback, we'd see them used in some situations. It gives defenses more things to prepare for.

Why wOUld a team not at least have some two-back sets in its arsenal?!  A few three back sets would not be displeasing, also.

Monroe, sir. Ohio's base offense, with Boo or Bates, is a two back set. Defenses do have to account for the QB which should help the receivers. Now, if the OL can take a step up it will matter little what the set is as it is not the Xs and Os but the .........

Trust me on this one. Even if OU had a scholarship, they shouldn't waste it on this kid.  He used to play for Upper St. Clair in Pittsburgh and I saw him play.  Decent high school player, but not college level at all.  Also heard he is a bit of a head case, transfered to multiple schools so he could get more playing time/increase his odds of getting recruited.  I would say pass on this one.

Looks like he runs hard and has good field vision.  Reads blocks well.

Doc, I would say we could better use the scholarship.   I don't know much about our recruits except what i read on this board, but in this one case I do.  I could be wrong, but from watching in person and information from people we should focus somewhere else.
