Here is a link to Cole's highlights for last year.  In addition to be 1st team all-state in football, Cole has also been named all-state in basketball as sophomore and is Eaton's all time leading scorer.

Big Time QB. Just the type of guy that can light the MAC on fire. I would say he will fall in love if he comes for that game vs Marshelle

Cole French leads Eaton to a 2-0 record, with intent to lead Eaton to another undefeated season. Last year was Eaton's first undefeated season and regional final.  Here is an article on his last game.

Not sure if you were trying to be funny or just a typo, but I kind of like that spelling, haha.

Unfortunately Eaton lost its first regular season game in a year and half.  Waynesville line dominated Eaton's line on both sides of the ball.  Eaton's run game was nill and Eaton's only hope was an air attack, French threw for a school record 45 attempts.  He had 3 td's and 349 yards.  Eaton took the lead early in the 4th but could not contain the rushing attack of Waynesville.

French made the game and was impressed with the overall experience.

- Coach Solich -  is an outstanding coach and has a great staff around him

- Campus is beautiful and a great environment

- Ohio is very good acedemic school and has the major of interest

- The team is competitive and will provide opportunities to play for championships

- Parents and players had nothing but good to say about the Ohio experience

- Look forward to seeing where this might lead

Right now Ohio is the place to be for an athlete looking to get a great education and actually have a chance to get on the field for  3-4 years. There are many 3 and 4 star rated players now looking at Ohio instead of rolling the dice at the big conference schools.

French wants to take another visit to OU in the near future.

He continues to do whatever it takes to lead his team to the playoffs.  Here is DDN article of his last performance.

French hopes to be in the state playoffs during the week of November 2nd, if so, he will be practicing for week 1 of the playoffs.   It is tough to make week day games win your still playing.

Unfortunately due to a hard fought lost in Eaton's last game, Eaton will not make this year's playoff.
Maybe the upside of that will be that a visit to OU on November 2nd is doable and good things will come of it!

Cole commits and this program doesn't have room for another QB for a couple of years. Tettleton, Snyder, Vick, Bell, and French gives the program 5 QB's for the next 2 seasons. I would like to hear more about commits from running backs that are over 6'0" and 200+. The program could use 3-4 backs that size even if they don't have speed just for blocking schemes.

French finished his high school carreer with a victory, leading his team to an 8-2 season and the team's third league championship.  Unfortunately Eaton did not qualify for the playoffs.  In his final game he threw three touchdown passes and ran for two in three quarters of play.  In his two years as a starting QB he finishes his carreer with about 5,000 passing yards and 50 touchdowns.

Cole looks forward to visiting Ohio this Wednesday to watch the Bobcats beat Temple in a key MAC game.

Good luck Bobcats!!!

I went to see Cole for his last HS game. Preble Shawnee was not much competition for EHS (EHS scored 57 pts after slow start), but he was impressive to watch. Not only did he have 3 TD passes, he:
  • Was the PAT/FG kicker
  • Punter - better than most HS punters
  • Played defense, outside/corner - even on the K/O squad
  • Does everything!
Ran no huddle offense w/option. Out of the shotgun the whole game - good hands on low/high snaps. Reminds me of Terrelle Pryor when he is running/moving w/the ball - deceptively fast - one of the fastest guys on the field - but looks like he's not trying to run as fast as he can. Good throwing motion, no wobbly passes, strong arm. Nearly all passes were catchable, college level receivers and his % completions will increase.  Did not see him check down receivers - went to primary target every play from what I saw - but that was likely due to the level of competition more than anything.

His height at QB is an assett. Great collegiate level potential.

Do we then move Bell to wideout? That's 6 QB's on the roster. Don't tell Cole that shhhhh.

Just realised I forgot to mention - he also had 2 rushing TD's that game!
