Starting this thread so that each recruit has one. Ohio gets a verbal from Parkview (Lilburn, GA) High School wide receiver Jordan Reid. The 6-3, 195-pounder also had an offer from South Dakota State.

Screen pass to Reid:

Several other "big" colleges wanted him, but it seemed they wanted him for free the first year.  Glad to see a great player get the chance to play at the next level.

Looks like he only played one year of HS football.

He's like Lavon Brazill or Travis Carrie in that respect. Many of the best players Ohio has had have been guys who only played one year at the HS level. On the other thread, I posted this link to a longer film on Jordan. Lavon is a potential 6th round draft choice this year, and Carrie may be drafted next year.

Glad Jordan is going to be able to find out his full potential in Athens. Welcome to OHIO.

I've always wondered about the logistics of how a school like Ohio can even find a kid like this when there is very little game film available, and there doesn't even seem to be any information on any of the scouting websites.  I mean there's no way any of our coaches has been following him for the last few years, so does someone on our staff just know someone on the high school staff who recommends him?  Or did he just send highlight films to every school in the country and we saw something we liked and said let's make an offer?  I'm not being critical at all here, just interested in how that process would work with such a sleeper prospect.

Could be either. A guy like Mike McQueen was a highlight tape sensation and we had to fight off schools like WVU at the last minute. On the other hand, a guy like Tremayne Scott is more having the right contact. Perhaps we'll find out later.
