We don't need grown men and women contacting high schoolers on the twitter machine.

EDIT: Just my 2 cents

Agree. Members of the team and students can show their love, and I hope they do, but grown men hunting kids down on Twitter is as creepy as the threats to Kalis.

If they visit Athens this weekend, yet are persuaded by Twitter bombardment to take their talents elsewhere--especially to Kron or Toledo--then I do not care to have them affiliated with my fine university and football team.

If your not in school why would you have a twitter??[/QUOTE]
That is a great mystery to me, whether you're in school or not...

It's one thing to discuss publicly available information, and quite another to directly contact potential recruits, whether through Twitter, or via other methods. I presume if they are interested to see if we are excited about them coming to Ohio, and we are, they will probably look here. If they aren't interested, us sending it to them directly isn't going to be a good thing. Also, any time you have people not affiliated with the Athletic Department directly contacting recruits, the chance of something outside of NCAA rules happening is increased.

I always looked at it as a message board is mostly fans mixing with other fans talking about sports. Going onto a player's twitter is fans mixing with players. I see a difference, but that's just me. Maybe I'm way behind the social media curve. Anyway, needless to say, I'm hoping all these guys visiting this weekend choose the Ohio Bobcats. It would be a nice touch for welcome posters in the Bookstore or something. #oldschool. #bobcatnation.

Actually its called a "sub-tweet" Example "Bobcat Nation welcomes @whoever to Athens Ohio". Your not contacting anyone but they obviously see the tweet. Some of you are really quite idiotic..you on one hand say something is "creppy" but on the other end you have over 5,000 posts that pertain to others personal lives. Get off of your "high horse" recruiting revolves around social media in 2012 the recruits LOVE s/o "shout outs" and information from alumni or current students. It becomes a problem when the posts are negative as a few of you on this board JUMP at the chance to holler "Wolf" over something trivial.

I don't know why you're being so confrontational. Besides, you have almost as many posts here as me and posts about on-field or on-court performance are not posts about personal lives.

Not to mention your crying "wolf" about the mass exodus of players from the football team around the bowl game. You took a story that may have had some credibility to it, put your own twist on it and posted it on here in an attempt to make it look like the sky was falling.  Mike is about as level headed a poster as this board has.  He doesn't bring antics, allegations or rumors on here.  He is first-class.  You are not!
