Any accurate stats out there for the guys that have committed so far?

Also is there anyone out there who has a decent list of guys seriously considering Ohio?

Hey guys I'm working on a piece for the Bobcat Sports Showcase on the 2013 recruiting class and have had a hard time finding reliable information so far.

Who are the top guys that Solich is still looking at that are actually considering signing with Ohio?

Also, do you guys know where I can find some accurate stats on the commits like James Walsh?

Thank you and go 'Cats!

Any and all information about recruiting is in the posts in this section of the board you just posted, just do a little light reading and you will find most of what you need.  Also I doubt any of us can say who are Solich's top guys since coaches can't comment on unsigned recruits.  The only way to find that information is to look at who has been offered again that information is on this board and speculate.

I'll let Ted, LC, and Doc comment if they want to add something.  Just seems like you are trying to have the guys that work hard here do the work for you instead of looking at all the information they have posted.

You can check out the database for the players Ohio has offered who haven't committed yet:: http://www.bobcatattack.com/football/recruiting.asp

Yeah thanks guys, I posted that prematurely, really the only thing I'm having trouble finding now is actual stats for these guys.

That's a tough one.

For example Dublin Coffman has a website but the only stats are scores.  If you can get the Columbus Dispatch stats for each Friday night game you can get QB Walsh and his TD's both running and throwing.  Max Preps might be another place to look for stats.

I was going to suggest maxpreps, too, but I'm not seeing any stats there. They did have them sometimes in years past, if the coach chose to upload them. Often the only way you are going to get stats will be to compile them yourself by finding news articles about each game.

I asked this question in another post but I didnt get any feedback so I will try this one. When will Ohio start getting recruits in for their official visits??

I see where other schools have already started having kids visit officially. When does Ohio start this process or have they already.

Thanks

Already have.

Scout.com sometimes lists these  visits and who's coming.

I've always been of the mindset that if we get them here the battle is almost won.  Casey Sayles of Nebraska recently visited and I noticed he also recently committed.

For official visits, I would say primarily the weekends in January. Even those who have given verbals will take official visits in January. Not saying some don't happen before then but that's when many of them happen.

Interesting. I guess there are 2 schools of thought.
1 Get them in early at an exciting home game where the atmosphere is electric and memorable.
OR
2 Let Ohio be one of their last trips when things are not as crazy and the Coaches and the Recruits can learn much more about each other not to mention the institution.

Although it seems every year there are more and more early commits at some colleges and in my opinion tie their hand when the recruit hasnt even played his senior year. Nothing means anything until Signing day anyways.

Thanks for the info

They do have recruits making visits at the early games, but I'd guess it was more likely to be local ones. I don't really keep up on that end of things, though.

Thanks guys, I decided to forgo stats. I find it amazing that NBC4i.com (they do football Friday Night) isn't keeping a database of central Ohio players stats.

I'll be easy on channel 4 in this instance.  even if they did decide to keep such stats, they'd depend on each and every school to submit them.  The Dispatch publishes some very elementary stats each Wed or Thurs.  For example, for our guy James Walsh, all  you will find is attempts, completions and yards.  he doesn't list in the rushing stats.  some kids show up in the stats one week, then not the next, and you know its because the school didn't submit them.

A call to the HS AD is still the best way to get the stats. #oldschool.
