This may be off base, but I am an Ohio University Alumni who has a 17 yr old son that was invited to OU in the Spring for a football visit. I am not sure why he has not heard anything since to my knowledge. He is very interested in the school overall as a football program and the fact his mother (me) is alumni. We are unfortunately not satisfied with the assistance from the Loveland Coaching staff in assisting with recruiting as well as financially can not afford the professional help of a scout assistant. Any insight into this would be great, even if not for recruit to the Ohio University. He attended the OU camp also at Mason High School. His name is Anthony Johnson, plays for Loveland High School and he is a CB. Here is just one of the great plays he had last year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sUDPFVxHW8. Thanks in advance.

Not off base....but we do have a recruiting forum where this may be more applicable for.  I'd say you definately need someone to put together videos from his sophomore and junior years for places like scoutingohio.com.

If you get that vid together and he has a good senior year then the fact that you're an Ohio alum doesn't hurt.....well at least in my book.

We do have current players from that area....starter Corey Hastings is from Milford.

A lot of recruits put a highlight film up on youtube, which isn't a bad place to start. You can also contact the four major recruiting services and make sure they know you exist. The four services are:
Rivals.com
Scout.com
247Sports
espn

These links are to what appeared to be the most logical places to start contacting them, but I might not have found the right places, since I haven't been in your positions before. Once you get listed, they will need film in order to evaluate him.

Good luck!

I'm not surprised. Loveland hasn't made noise in football in a long time (no offense). I know they have a tight end at Wisconsin but I honestly can't remember any other big recruits to come out of there.

JoyJ, Anthony will need to show that he is prepared academically as well. The ACT/SAT score is important.  I recommend Anthony investigate several schools at all levels.  His first choice might not have a scholarship, Travis Carrie will be keeping his another year.  Defensive back is a very, very, very competitive position and the coaches look accross the country, California, Florida, Pa. MD to D. C and at junior colleges for that special student athlete.

I'd get in touch with Mark at scoutingohio.com. It's his life passion to get Ohio kids playing college football.

Get his full game film from Jr Year and once he has played 4-5 games send those dvd's to the colleges that he is interested in. Also fill out the online recruiting questionaires on the programs website he will have more options if you also look at FCS football as yes CB at a FCS takes a very very exceptional player who coaches usually identify early. All fil should include a bio and remember coaches like game film not just highlights. You can email nationalrecruits1@gmail.com if you need some assistance in getting his film looked at by coaches.
