I don't think everyone cares, but I love seeing all the in-state verbals. This should ne a record percentage year. Will be great to be getting more statewide support with local players.

I don't have data to back this up, but my observation is that most of the early acceptances have always been local. When the class isn't full, and they are still looking for good athletes, they widen the search, and end up with late acceptances from further away.

I don't care where our athletes come from as long as they are good students and citizens and they can help us win.

Not surprising. We are Ohio.

Even if it makes a difference in support and attendence? I don't understand that reasoning.

Everything else being equal, I'll take a kid from SEO every time.  Then a kid from somewhere else in Ohio or in a nearby area of West Virginia.  The local kids will put more butts in the seats.  Again, I'm saying if the talent is equal, which it often is not, but we need to keep the good kids at home!

The state has a wealth if talent, enough to stock 3 quality BCS level programs. Ohio State gets the pick of the litter and then its fierce competition among the 6 Ohio MAC schools to divide up the remainder. Ohio wants to win the instate game because if they can that forces the other schools go afar for talent and try and make it with non qualifiers. With a brand new IPF only a season away that has become a great equalizer in football recruiting. It makes more sense for the BCS level guys to consider an Ohio over a Purdue or Boston College type program trying to sneak into this recruiting state. Brian Haines is helping. Germano Recruiting Inc. wasn't getting it done. Pete' a great coach. That's what Boeh said.

I get the logic. With more kids that locals, ie ticket buyers identify with. Which should boost ticket sales.

Than being said, a winning team will pull more in the end. everyone loves a winner no matter where the kids are from. USC fills the stadium because they win not because some kids are local. Shoot last year UCLA couldnt put 25k in a 100,000 seat stadium.

Win and they will come
