Didn't see this up there

http://cincinnati.com/blogs/recruiting/2012/05/22/ohio-un.../

Per Mike Dyer and Cincinnati.com's recruiting blog:

Ohio University has offered Colerain junior defensive lineman Dae’Shaun Durham, according to Colerain coach Tom Bolden. Durham is 6 feet 2 and 285 pounds.

I was reading the twitter of this guys old teammate at Colerain Trae Clark who is a DT but went JUCO last year... Clark asked him where he was leaning and he said OU.

Clark isn't expected back, right? Isn't that why he went to JUCO? To get his grades up and find a better opportunity?

Clark is expected back. Ohio placed him at a junior college for that purpose.

There is no guarantee he will come back, but many/most of them do. Some never get their grades up, and thus never get back. Others get eligible, return, and have a good career. Still others do get eligible, but have additional academic problems later. I don't recall any cases where they got eligible, but went somewhere else, though I'm sure it can happen. Examples of those that never returned would be Robert Hightower and Vincent Harris. Ones that returned would be Voncarie Owens, the Leftwiches,  Kadre Pinder, and Tim Edmond. Thus, of seven players that I can think of that went this way, five became eligible and returned, though not all of them stayed eligible.

Speaking of eligibility, I wonder what ever happened to Gary Fortune? I thought he might go elsewhere to try to become eligible and return, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

L.C., I was thinking about Gary Fortune the other day. He would have been a senior correct?

He would have been a Senior this year, had he never red-shirted.

I read an article a few years ago that Fortune went to Hutch but couldn't even stay eligible there. And I'm being serious.

I found him. Having redshirted, he's now a Junior at Emporia State, and playing DB.
