I live pretty close to Willoughby South HS and this kid has been putting up some amazing numbers this year.  Yesterday he put up 335 yards and 6 TDs (playing only 3 quarters) in a 53-21 win.  Through 5 games he has 1,296 yards and 21 touchdowns.

He also has offers from Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, and pretty much the rest of the MAC.

The best way to describe Kareem is he's a Kalvin McRea with speed.  Tough runner with great vision.  I suspect he'd be a record breaker at Ohio.

As always, Bobcattackers are ahead of the curve.  There's a good article in today's Cleveland Plain Dealer (sorry, I'm not tech savvy enough to provide the link) about Mr. Hunt.  Apparently he already has offers from Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and most of the other MAC schools.  This would be another "good get" for Ohio if he decides to come here.

Added an offer from Minnesota. According to Rivals,  he's going to decide between Pitt, Toledo, Cincinnati and Minnesota.

I'm thinking that running backs would look at our ground game...and find it an attractive proposition.

Add to that the fact that in the last 30 years, only nine running backs have won the Heisman Trophy. Of those nine, one was recruited and coached by Solich.

Well it looks like Hunt verballed to Toledo.  I believed that he would go to a BCS level school so I am a little surprised.  Makes you wonder if Ohio was ever in consideration.  He is a real talent.

Scout has Toledo with 8 three star recruits and us with one......albeit like always they fail to report 5 or 6 of OUr commits...a few they could rate 3 star.

I would agree that Toledo is having a great year. I'm not sure Ohio was ever a school in the running for Hunt, but by the time he decided the Ohio class was pretty well full, and the class includes a good running back, Dorian Brown. For what it's worth, 247 Sports composite rating shows Hunt as 81, and Brown at 80.06, so they are pretty close, and either is a good addition.

One of the disadvantages of getting all the early commits is that it limits what you can do later. If the recruits are going to commit to Ohio as fast as they did this year, perhaps next year Ohio should up the standard just a tad, and make slightly less offers to slightly better players. That's a tough call, though, as this is the first year, ever, that Ohio filled a class this fast.
