Per Mike Dyer of the Cincinnati Enquirer:

Mason senior safety Corey Quallen verbally committed to Ohio University Friday, says Mason coach Brian Castner http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/128375/corey-quallen

Welcome, Corey. Corey had offers from Miami, Toledo, Cincinnati, Akron, BG, E. Illinois, and  Indiana State.

That should fill up the Safety spots, but I'm still hoping for 1-2 cornerbacks.

I would guess they would beef him up and move him to OLB, ala Wosley.

Anyone know anything else about this kid? This is honestly the first I'm hearing about him.

I found this highlight film, but it is very short. There also isn't much info on him at the recruiting services:
Rivals page
scout.com page
ESPN page
I didn't find a page for him at 247 sports.

Yeah that's the issues I was running into as well. Just not a lot about him out there I guess. I might try and bug his coach for some more info seeing as he's on twitter!

Here's a ton of Quallen vid....all I can say is damn.....I first thought I loved his hard hittin the best until I saw some of his closing speed situations....love the one where the RB just gives up and runs out of bounds.

There is a lot of talent in Southwest Ohio and Cincinnati I'm sure has a beat on it better than anyone given the proximity.  I think the fact that they has offered is telling of the talent the kid has.

Wisconsin has already offered a grayshirt....if they watch his video they be stupid as hell not to offer a schollie......their loss....OUr gain.

Highlights against Sycamore, St. X, Oak Hills, Lakota West to name a few. That's big time folks. Stand out there and you can play. See him as an outside LB type. We are in the nickel so much your LB's should probably be converted db's anyway.

My guess is that this kid came on during his Senior year and thus the big dogs don't have a schollie for him and thus can at best offer preferred walk-on status.  With the talent in high school now and with the big schools picking up kids in their junior years this has really helped the rest of lower BCS and mid-major schools pick up some great talent.

That's what I'm sayin.

A few more pounds as a 6'2"-220 pound OLB who is agile....mobile...and hostile.

This is a guy I actually really like.  He looks like someone who could become a starter very quickly. But why is everybody so quick to change his position.  Nothing wrong with having a big hard hitting safety.
