The 6'1'' 210 pounder also has an offer from Ball State. I like the tackling technique - hit low and wrap him up.

Elida is a somewhat smaller school (mid-sized) but it plays in a really high-caliber league and reached the state final this past year. He played against quite a few other D-I recruits.

Picks up his first rating, from 24-7 sports. (You guys know, it's the old, "If they commit to Ohio, raise the rating" thing )

His rating of 76, and Walsh's 82 have Ohio off to a great start. To compare that to last year, the five players with the highest ratinf from 24-7 that are still expected for this fall were Sebastian Smith 85, Kurt Laseak 80, Greg Windham 80, Mike Roberts 80, and Wade Wells 76.

I covered Poling's Elida on Friday/Saturday. Elida went to 3-0 on the season. Poling covers a lot of ground sideline to sideline.

Here's hoping Jordan Thompson and Poling's recruiting opens up recruiting in the WEstern Buckeye League and Midwest Athletic Conference. You get tough, well-schooled players in this area.

A photo our photographer got of Poling on Friday night.

Also named All-NW District Defensive player of the year and 1st Team all District. Note that he was chosen ahead of the player you mentioned, Courtney Love, who is considered to be a 3-4 star recruit.

Could it be Ohio's coaches use more than stars to evaluate recruits?  Don't  tell Casper71.

It would not be surprising to see Poling up-rated at this point. In most years we see about 1/3 of the class pick up a higher rating when the services look at Senior film. The only one that has been uprated so far was Alexander, who jumped from 2 stars to 3 from Scout.com. I'm not saying he'll bump to 4 stars, but 3 stars for Poling would not be a surprise, with Defensive POTY honors in the district.
