If you're in Athens, I definitely recommend stopping by the signing day reception tonight at Peden. A good chance to ask questions of the coaches and get their feel for the class. Here's the reminder email I just got...

On behalf of Ohio Bobcats Football, you're invited to get an inside look of the incoming recruiting class at the 2013 Signing Day Reception TONIGHT (February 6) at 6 pm. The event will be located on the second floor of the Peden Stadium Tower.

Video analysis of all recruits will be provided by Head Coach Frank Solich as well as his assistant coaches to give fans an inside look at the 2013 Recruiting Class.

Complimentary drinks and popcorn will also be provided. The reception will wrap up at approximately 7:00 p.m.

The 2013 Signing Day Reception is a FREE event, and no RSVP is required! For more information on the event, please give me a call at 740-593-9687.

Go Bobcats!

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend tonight.
But I am interested to hear from Frank if there is any concern about our quarterback depth in the future since we didn't sign a true quarterback in this class.  Also I am interested to know his opinion of the recruiting services and whether he pays any attention to their rankings.

Wouldn't you be astounded (in a very bad way) if the staff paid attention to recruiting services.  Gotta do our own eval.  Might peruse the services very quickly for prospects--especially overlooked talent.  But, by definition, overlooked talent is not mentioned by the services.
