Are we seeing a new trend? Talented player out of HS may be perfectly happy committing to Ohio early, knowing that they can get PT early, and then have the mobility to transfer into a better NIL situation than they could have found directly out of HS? If so, Ohio may always have good RB, but may have to replace them every year or two.

Have we ever had 2 higher rated RB’s in a class ?

Vince Davidson and Donte Harden were in the same class.

Were they both 3 stars? Just wondering

Both were rated 2 stars/5.1 by Rivals, two Stars by Scout, and unrated by ESPN, which turned out to be an underestimate of their ability. Yes, Ohio has has 2 3-star RBs in the same class, but it was later, in 2021, with Quintrell Quinn and Sieh Bangura, but only using 247Sports ratings. We can argue about which RB's were the most talented. As far as actual talent, while Davidson and Harden were both good, I'd go with 2014 which included Irons, Oullette, and White, none of whom were rated 3 stars by any service (and Oullette was not rated at all).

As far as running backs rated 3 stars, these are the ones I found. Note that 247 seems to be much more liberal in terms of giving out 3-star ratings:
Beau Blankenship 2011 Transfer - 3 stars by Scout, Rivals, and ESPN
Daz Patterson 2012 - 3 stars by ESPN
Walter Wilbon 2019 - 3 stars by 247
Quintrell Quinn 2021 - 3 stars by 247
Sieh Bangura 2021 - 3 stars by 247, Rivals
Dontierre Fisher 2022 - 3 stars by 247, Rivals
Ricky Hunt 2023 - 3 stars by 247, Rivals
Duncan Brune 2024 - 3 stars by 247

I'm not sure what ever became of Dontierre Fisher. He was reportedly going to go to Coffeyville, but never seems to have appeared on their roster.

If you exclude the 247Sports-only 3-stars, and the no show, the list is only four players long, and all four were or are good players:
Beau Blankenship 2011 Transfer - 3 stars by Scout, Rivals, and ESPN
Daz Patterson 2012 - 3 stars by ESPN
Sieh Bangura 2021 - 3 stars by 247, Rivals
Ricky Hunt 2023 - 3 stars by 247, Rivals

Michael Taylor is 3 stars/5.5 by Rivals and 3 stars/84 by 247Sports, unrated by ESPN and ON3
Irving Brown is not yet rated by anyone

It's worth pointing out that this Fall, Ohio will have 2 legitimate 3-star running back, with Hunt and Tyrus. If one of them stays for another year, that will happen again in 2025 with one of those, plus Taylor. It could also happen if Irving Brown ends up with a 3-star rating.

Through 8 games, Taylor has 977 rushing yards on 133 carries as part of a balanced offense that includes a Kentucky WR recruit and a QB that has committed to Wisconsin.

Here's hoping that Taylor signs with the Bobcats in December and that OUr staff takes a look at his younger brother Malachi, a junior DB who has returned 5 interceptions for touchdowns this fall. Malachi has offers from Akron, Kentucky, Miami and Toledo.

North will play on the CW Central Ohio game of the week in week 10 (Oct. 25).

Every time this thread gets updated I'm worried it's the dreaded "DECOMMITTED" post. That might just be me and my anxiety but this kid is undeniably a baller.

I scanned the all-district teams yesterday and found it odd that the DI (large school) first team included roughly the same number of quarterbacks as it did offensive linemen.

Example #328 of everyone gets a trophy?

If he had one more star behind his name, he's probably staying in Columbus... thank goodness he's a gem at 3*

He tweeted out a broken heart on an Albin posting for Charlotte. I really hope we can keep this young man.
