I guess I missed something. Do Clark and Murray figure in here somewhere?

No. They apparently didn't do the academic work necessary to be eligible for 2014. According to Arkley, they are now no longer associated with the program.

Once again Chris Murray has only played one season of JUCO football...I dont know what Clark has played but I assumed he has only been there for one season also. Players must get their Associates degree 2 years before they are eligible.

They have been out of high school long enough that they could be eligible, but not if they took a year off before starting Juco. Since we don't ever get official news on these sorts of things, we just guessed that, like most kids, they would go directly to Juco. It was you that corrected us with regard to Murray, and told us that he waited a year before starting Juco.

As for Clark, last year I believe he was at Iowa Western CC before moving to his current school this year. Thus I think he's had enough time to get eligible this year, but I presume there are other issues.

But Murray has been there two years, right? He redshirted his first year so that, in theory, he would have 3 years to play at Ohio. Since that's not going to happen, my guess is that's why he's no longer associated with the program.

No he just arrived at Hutch last year..I think he was recovering from an injury which delayed his enrollment. He looks to join the team January 2015 with 2 years of eligibility assuming he doesn't sign with another program.

Why is Ohio even wasting the time trying to get these guys to Athens at this point?

Then I don't understand why he gave a verbal to Ohio in August if he knew he wasn't coming in 2014.

Ohio coaches were under the impression he was eligible for the 2014 class: http://www.athensohiotoday.com/sports/ohiouniversity/fast-track/article_7703f214-0348-591c-a66c-090919003fcd.html

Scout.com called him a redshirt freshman:
  1. Scout.com: Top Performers - Wide Receivers

    jcfootball.scout.com/2/1332580.html

Oct 3, 2013 - Hutchinson WR Chris Murray - The redshirt freshman hauled in 13 receptions for 207 yards and one touchdown in Hutchinson's 36-20 win over  ...
Something doesn't add up. If his plan all along was to be part of Ohio's 2015 class, why didn't he redshirt this year? Also, if the plan all along was to be part of the 2015 class why has Ohio cut ties (at least according to Arkley)?

They are not. According to Arkley, Clark and Murray are no longer associated with the program.

Price, L.B., Foster, Cochran, ...... Murray. Sounds like Ohio is his planned destination. If he is still hot on Ohio I hope he gets to wear green and white. Better late than never.

I think people over-react to Murray, for some reason. He seems to be on track. He just started a year late, and only bobcatblitz was aware of it.

Then why did Arkley say that?

No idea but if Murray is still at JUCO on track to finish in the 18-24 month time period its kinda hard to believe after the freshman year that he had Ohio would completely cut ties. Last time I heard a coach mention the kid was about Kansas State or Nebraska poaching him from Hutchinson so I have no idea. Maybe he flunked out and doesn't know it yet lol I guess time will tell but schools dont normally place guys into JUCO after they commit and pull an offer on an guy mid year unless their not gonna graduate.
