None were names to first-Team All-Ohio Offense or defense, nor to 2d team Offense, however Kent Berger and Chalmer Frueauf were named to the 2d team defense. On the honorable mention Offense I see Joe Burrow as well as Jared McCray. On honorable mention Defense I find Jalen Fox.

The Ohio recruits who were not injured (Meyer, Duckworth) all did receive all-District honors, however, with one exception:
NE-Inland District
Joe Lowery - 1st Team Division III
Brian Dicillo - 1st Team Division II
Pierce Royster - 1st Team Division I

NE-Lakes
Kyle Kuhar - 1st Team Division II
Jake Pruehs - 1st Team Division I
Kent Berger - 1st Team Division I

SE District
Jered McCray - 1st Team Division IV

Southwest District
Jered Brumfield - 2d Team Division II
Stephen Langenkamp - 2d Team Division I
Jalen Fox - 1st Team Division IV
Herman Brunis - 2d Team Division I
Tyler Jones - 2d Team Division I
Connor Brown - Apparently was a key player this year, but didn't get post-season honors.
Chalmer Frueauf - 1st Team Division I

Central District
Brennen Dudziak - 1st Team Division I

Northwest District
Chek Washington - 1st Team Division II, Offensive Player of the Year

Considering that most of these offers went out before the season, the coaches must be doing a fairly good job of evaluating who they want to offer.

The percentage of guys signed from the state of Ohio seems much higher than normal. I'm glad we're getting them from good schools (Moeller, Ed's, etc.) however I would like to see us hit the southern states like Florida and Georgia a little harder to improve the team speed.  I wonder if there possibly a travel budget issue that is causing us to stay in state more this year.

I joked that they spent all the travel budget on repeated trips to Vancouver, but seriously, no, I think they just knocked the Ohio recruiting out of the park this year. Most of these guys were early commits.

Here's the All-TSF Tri-State Football Team, which honors the best of SW Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Eastern Indiana.

1st Team - Herman Brunis, Chalmer Frueauf
3d Team - Jalen Fox, Stephen Langenkamp, Tyler Jones

I don't put a lot of emphasis on the all state teams. There is as lot of politics and other motivations involved in who is selected

As you know LC, the best barometer is who else offered an athlete.

AND if you're team didn't have a very good record you don't get much recognition from the state either

For proof of that, look no further than Durrell Wood, a year ago. His high school team was horrible, and he got no post season honors, yet he was good enough to come in to Ohio and start as a true Freshman.

I agree, Jeff, and I've said the same myself. When someone makes an offer, they are putting their money where their mouth is, and that means more than a vote on an all-district team, or for that matter, some analyst's rating on a service.

I posted the info not because I thought it was critical, but rather just as one more confirmation that this is a good class. I also want to make the point that most of the recruits in this class were offered based on their junior year performance, and the fact that they got these honors based on Senior year performance is a confirmation that they coaches are picking talented players.

Definitely interested in seeing the all state teams each year.  I'm like you, I just don't put as much creedence in them as other factors.

The conflict is the apologists/shills believe the experts are the ones offering scholarships while the darksiders would rather trust services which scout from a desk when and if someone thinks to send them a video.

If I read that Oklahoman article right, that list is state-wide, regardless of division. That's really impressive.
