I don't understand the math this year....

Anyway, Chalmer was 2d Team All-Ohio, and was 1st Team all-SW District, Division I. He is 6-4, 240, and had offers from Kent, Akron, W. Kentucky, WMU and BG.

Wonder if a JUCO DL and WR aren't coming to Athens considering recent commits.

We already have been told that one JUCO WR was a year away. The same may be true for the DT. We really won't know until Wednesday, though.

That's what I'm thinking. Neither enrolled for this quarter. I don't know how this factors in but I think Tate Leavitt is also going to be a part of this class.

As I've said before, we get GCL and GMC guys from Cincy and we will be fine!

But he's only two stars. Hehe.

I was impressed with his video. Very good speed, quickness, and strength for a guy his size. He definitely has the speed to play DE and the strength to play DT. I don't know where he'll end up, but he has a load of potential.

He seems a little on the smallish side for DT.....but he's a wrestler, so maybe that was by design and he'll bulk up quickly in a weight program. Based on the video he plays bigger than 245. Nix at Kent seems like the obvious comparison.

Great Wrestlers at the upper weights are excellent at keeping their opponent away from them with long strong arms and footwork.  The same recipe to keep a rusher from getting to the QB or DL getting over to plug a hole. It will be interesting to see where he winds up just as it will be to see those taken as receivers and running backs; who will be switched to the opposite side?

It is exciting to see Moeller, Ed's and Mentor sending students to OHIO--sprinkle in an Ignatius and Glenville lad on occasion to keep practices lively!

Judging by the twitter feeds, it seems like a pretty tight nit group of recruits especially from the state of Ohio. Lots of these guys appear to know each other already and probably helping in our recruiting efforts in state.

Very interesting. The perils of waiting too long, perhaps? In any case, it helps solve the math problems.

I still am excited about this guy. I love his style of play, whether he ends at DE or DT.

Chalmer was 1st Team All-State not 2nd team.  He was offered a full ride to OU at the end of his Jr. Season but was not ready to commit so he waited too long.,  He visited the other schools he had offers from and decided that OU was the best fit for him.  So he is coming on as a preferred walk-on since there are currently no scholarships left.  But I have a feeling he will prove his talent and be on scholarship soon.  He is awesome to watch and is a an absolute game changer in defensive situations.  Maybe due to him being an national level wrestler but he his quick and makes alot of plays behind the line of scrimmage.  Will be interesting where OU ends up using him.

I kind of figured that's what happened - he waited too long. I was extremely impressed by his film. Note that in this thread I picked him to be the biggest impact player on the defensive line, even though he is a walkon. I don't think he'll be a walkon for long. They usually give out 2-3 scholarships a year to walkons.
