Will Ohio get any more recruits before the holidays?

Then, let me...semi-hijack....ask you this, not expecting an answer due to the depth of research that this would require.

If being drafted by the NFL or signing as a free agent or being invited to an NFL camp is more relevant that All-MAC players produced (hey you all asserted it..I didn't), then tell me how we fare vs. such as 'kron, kents, emu (at the league bottom) and NIU, CMU, BG, (at the league top) for these categories.

I don't know, Monroe, but I know that in recent years NIU has been very high in the area of getting players into the NFL, and that a few years back CMU was, but not so much lately.

BTW, I had a lucky guess. Indeed we did have a very nice flurry of activity in commitments before Christmas

This isn't exactly what you were asking for, but heres the data for currently active NFL players and where they went to school:

http://espn.go.com/nfl/college

School Currently Active Players
Akron 1
Ball St 1
Miami 2
EMU 3
BG 4
NIU 4
Ohio 4
Buffalo 5
WMU 6
Umass 7
Toledo 7
Kent 9
CMU 9

Again, this leaves out drafted but cut, invitees to camp who weren't signed, and even practice squad players.

Thanks, Dallas. Your results have some interesting tidbits--kents at the top and NIU not so much.

I wish there was a quick way to see the # of guys who at least got to an NFL camp. Oh, well.

Maybe Situation, which loves the esoteric, can build it for us.

Dead period starts today, and runs for another month. We should be done seeing commits for awhile, but maybe the next month will clear up exactly which players have committed, and which ones haven't.

We almost always hold a few schollies for closer to signing day, so even though this board keeps up to date with most of the signings, I'm sure there will be a few surprises left for the end. And that doesn't account for the "soft" verbals that always worry me. LC is there any current commits you worry we could lose as we approach signing day?

Yeah I remember seeing something about that in the Cloud thread. Howard also seems to be kind of a mystery man so I am cautious about him too. Don't want to jinx us though. The good thing is that we seem to have less decommits recently than we used to in the past.

LOL, I worry about all of them. We seem to have lost one tonight, actually, Menyelek Austin seems to have decided to go Division II, to Stillman College, rather than one of several Division I offers he had. Odd, but, OK, if Ohio isn't the place he wants to be, better for him to decommit now.
