He was named Second Team All-Conference

"Maxwell has been selected to attend USA Football’s National Team Development Games"- Competing for a spot to represent the US against Canada in an international bowl.

Hudl has him at 6-3 210 lbs and running a 4.61 40-yd. Hand the kid a redshirt, put him on a D1 lifting schedule and he will be a real contender for the starting spot from the standpoint of athleticism and size.

Hmm, he seems to be under the radar, but has a decent arm and NFL size, and seems to enjoy the called runs. I note he was also second team defense as a linebacker, and as a punter, so he's a tough kid and a versatile athlete. Another thing I found was that he was awarded the "Charlie hustle" award in basketball.

He looks like a hard worker that will continue to improve.

That second place team honor was for the MRVC East division -2012 when he was a sophomore. I wonder how he did last year. He was also honorable mention MVRC East division basketball last year. Can't find much else about him.

Impressive film. He looks like a perfect fit for our offense. It didn't look like he shied away from contact on his designed runs.

If QB doesnt work out for him, he would make a fantastic H-Back/TE with that size (after bulking up) and speed.

Agreed, but I've got 2 concerns. One, there wasn't a lot of zip on his throws....they floated a bit. Two, I think we're his only offer, and I can't tell that any of the services have him rated. Is he one of those diamonds in the rough we are always hoping for?

But those runs.....especially those option runs from under center......had a certain mid-90s-Cornhusker feel to them, so I get why the coaches like this guy.

Athens may be a little big for him, since Richmond only has a population on 5797.

I thought the guy threw the ball off his back foot a lot?  I'd say his throwing mechanics need to be improved quickly.  The kid can run the ball and looks to be hard nosed for a QB!

Seems Mr. Vick was Mr. all-around athlete when he was recruited.  He has had three years coaching before he has been given the keys to the car. Mr Maxwell would have at least as much development time and he has a huge up side over others.

Looking for something about his play this fall. No joy yet, I did find this article about a 2013 game.

Anyone else a bit underwhelmed here? A bit concerned there seem to be no other D1 offers. Seems like another "walk on" level guy.

I am wondering if his commitment is for QB or another position. From the little bit of info available the stats certainly don't inspire a ton of confidence.

Chillicothe racks up 420 yards rushing to defeat Richmond 35-27 in the first round of the playoffs, to end Maxwell's high school career:

The coaches need to do better recruiting QB's. I don't see him competing for playing time here. He passes for less than two hundred yards a game in high school. I am a little underwhelmed. I hope I am proved wrong.

The QBs on staff now are people chosen by Gdowski. Maxwell is the first one chosen by Isphording. We'll just have to see how he does.

I do not believe the criteria changed when they evaluated Maxwell. Down the road he should be a Gdowski type. Basically a bigger Vick. I just hope he has all the Vick intangibles.

Does anyone have an idea of how competitive the teams in his home area rate over the years?

I am not familiar with the level of play in that part of the country.
