Every year it seems that the recruits come earlier. Not long ago MAC recruiting classes were mostly filled in December-January, but some MAC schools are off to a roaring start, especially WMU with a consensus Top 25 recruiting class so far
WMU - 12 commits, National Rankings: Rivals #29, 247Sports #12, Scout #16
Miami- 6 commits, National Rankings: Rivals #55, 247Sports #35, Scout #45
Toledo - 5 commits, National Ranks: Rivals #71, 247Sports #54, Scout #59
( They reportedly really have 10 commits, and ranks will go up when other commits show)
Kent St - 1 commit, National Ranks #57, 247Sports #68, Scout #57
As they did last year, Ohio seems to be raising the bar on offers, and going for those "true 3-star" rated level players:
http://ohio.247sports.com/Season/2016-Football/OffersThere appear to be only a handful of players that Ohio has offered that are NOT 3-star rated or higher, and far more 4-stars than 2-stars. Most of the players that they have offers out to have a bunch of other offers. If Ohio can fill the class from this group, it will be a very, very good class when it's all done. They were able to fill the class last year with highly rated players, so hopefully that will happen again this year.
