In what will surely make Caspar71 explode in frustration, Collegefootballtalk.com is reporting that the Miami Redhawks have added 4 star recruit safety Kendrell McFadden to their 2015 recruiting class. Allegedly he turned several high profile offers (Alabama, LSU, OSU, etc.) to go to Miami.

Rivals - McFadden=#21 Safety, Williams #48
ESPN - McFadden=#14 Safety, Williams #18 Safety
Scout.com - McFadden=#22 Safety, Williams #46 Safety
247Sports - #77 Safety, #38 Safety
Averages: McFadden=33.5, Williams=37.5

While I don't put much stock in the rankings at the 2 star level, I put a lot more faith into the 4-star rankings because on those players the services actually spend time and effort evaluating the players. In the end, you have to believe that these players are both very, very good.

I love it that 4-star recruits are considering the MAC. Too bad he chose the wrong school.

Interestingly enough, Casper's head exploded when we signed our own 4* safety as he completely dismissed that signing.

With some people, you cannot win. Sign a great player=hear excuses.

Dag guys, I just got to this posting and I see my name being used in vain. If we got a 4-star guy you should know I am happy and I would not dismiss that. I agree with LC that at that level the guys are usually really good. My head probably should have just exploded when I see that Miami got a 4-star guy. Fortunately, it didn't.

Then again, I no longer look at the star rankings. You guys convinced me all we need is a bunch of 2-star guys and walk ons and we are sure to win a MACC! I just don't understand why this staff offers and wants to sign 3 or 4 star guys.

At this point we wait and see if McFadden reports to Miami in the fall, or if D. Williams reports to Ohio.

As far as the 2-star question, for me I'm sticking to my preference towards "other offers" as the most accurate indicator among the 2-3 star group. I'm looking for an average of over 3 competitive offers in the 2016 class. The first known verbal, Tupa, has 2, and may or may not get more (often teams don't bother making offers to people who have already committed, but sometimes they do).

Agreed other offers, real offers, mean way more than "stars". Because staffs are the real evaluators, not the entrepreneur making a buck off the over zealous fans. There are a few evaluators, who sell reports only to staffs, and they are legit.

This is year 11, fellas.

It is high time for significant results.

What, you get three years to get it going from a horrid situation, okay. But those three years are long passed.
