... I don't view five DB's as "too many" at one position either with how pass-heavy college football is now. A couple of these guys have the size to step into the box and stop the run, also...
five DB's too many? Not a chance. In fact I wish they had Seymour at CB instead of WR because I was hoping for three cornerbacks.
DB is seriously depleted, or will be in a year when five Senior DBs are gone (Bass, Layton, Wells, Jones, Macer). By 2016 the only cornerbacks left will be Fox, Brunson, and Nelson, plus these new recruits (Howell, Christian). At Safety it's more of the same, if not worse. By 2016 the only Safeties left will be Toran Davis, Blake Scipio, and Corey Quallen, plus the three in this class (Williams, Williams, and Hagen).
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see one or two of these Safety recruits on the field next fall.
As for other things, I'll be happier when Colbert shows up on the official list. As Mike said, his form probably needs a guardian signature, or something.
As for Najee Stevens-McKenzie, I still wonder what happened, but my best guess from reading twitter comments is that once he committed, he failed to finish out his academic work, and was not on track to qualify, and that Key was a late replacement for him in the class. Perhaps we will see Stevens-McKenzie again next year after a year in prep school, or in a couple years after Juco.
