Did any play this year besides Hale and Provitt? Wonder if that number means anything about potential or just need?

LOTS of buzz from coaches on Q Maxwell. Heard Big Ben like as far as potential ability

That's the best news I've heard all week.

And BINGO, this is why this or a similar bowl is good for a program like Ohio's. The bowl gives a young, promising player like Maxwell more practice time; for Maxwell this is especially important as he plays the QB position.

Oh my! Reminds me of the Tim O'Shea "he's got NBA skills" type comments.

#47 Evan Crouch has played well as a backup LB and on Special Teams. Eight tackles.

I hope, if this is true, that he is given the chance to start next year or at least be in the running for the QB position. I'd love a lengthy career for a quality QB. It's not as though we have a stud next year, with Sprague and Windham. They're serviceable and decent, but if Maxwell is the real deal, I hope he doesn't have to 'wait his turn'.

I've been high on Maxwell for a long time. No, he didn't have any offers. No, he didn't have any ratings. No, he didn't impressive stats. Yes, he played for a bad team, in a bad football area. That just means you have to throw out the stats, and watch his film. What I saw was a big guy, with NFL stature, that can run, doesn't mind contact, and has a powerful arm. In other words, he has the raw material to be a great QB. Now it's a question of how fast he develops, and how far.

Maxwell is only a Freshman he wont beat out Sprague and Windham baring injury or transfer. I actually think those two can be good in this offense. Blasting with AJ/Maleek/Dorian with a peppering of Papi and our WR group next year could be a MACC type of season.

Sounds reasonable. I hope to see Mr. Lowery recovered from injury and back at LT. Who steps in at LG, I am less sure. If you subscribe to the five best make up the starting OL, Watson, Wood, Pruehs & Lowery seem a solid top four. I like Mr. Gibbons and would be pleased to see him out there, but, there are two/three others I expect to challenge.

My thoughts and hopes reflected here. No more DUTM next season that is for sure.

Yah, especially that this was another year in which we falled back on the injury excuse. None of these guys had the talent to step in? Does that give us greater faith?

Managing redshirts is one of the most strategic issues coaches face. They need to look to the future of the program, not simply appease a distant fan or two.
